hard to find, extremely slow staffSuper overpriced Korean food at medium-bad quality, but I live in LA so I’m spoiled with the bestHere’s what I recommend out of what I had-‘I’ll aloe it’ cocktail, lychee + citrus yuzu sojuBone-in wings are big and saucyTtubokki- both flavorsAvoid-Korean pancakes were oily, burnt, flavorlessPopcorn chicken- tasted frozen and flavorlessRaw marinated crab- bitter, not a good spice mixJust ok-ManduJju-saamKimchi fried rice

I think I ordered tofu kimchi, bossam, and tripe hotpot. It tastes impeccably great. It's perfect for a glass of soju during a business trip. There are staff who can speak Korean and are friendly.I remember that local customers were eating a lot of gamjatang.I was a little lost because I couldn't find the entrance. I barely found the entrance to the strange basement and was scared going down the stairs, but once I got inside, it was a whole new world haha. It would be nice to know in more detail how to get there.

Overall mixed feelings about this place. I would come back with a group as it is a fun vibe and a nice venue, definitely elevated from the typical casual Korean bar vibes. Service is also very friendly and quick. The food is ok! I was excited to see some more traditional dishes on the menu like bossam and chicken gizzard, but it seems to be hit or miss. Eg the bossam was dryer than the usual texture it should have and the kimchi had too much fish sauce and wasn’t sour/fermented enough. The popcorn chicken and friend pork belly were tasty, if you’re after some fusion options.A few things that I didn’t love, automatic 20% tip for groups of 6 or more. I honestly could have tipped more if I had the option but it’s always a shame when restaurants demand a tip, when it really should be the customers choice. We also did karaoke and whilst the servers were very friendly and helpful, it was a little misleading as they were encouraging us to stay as long as we wanted but at no point explained the hourly cost. A simple explanation at the start would have been easy enough or for someone to come in at the hour mark to ask if we wanted to continue, like I've seen other karaoke places do.When I ordered take out on a separate occasion, the entrees did not include rice which I was surprised with (Korean restaurants normally include rice as a standard). Given how low cost rice is, it seemed to be a funny choice to not have it included.Whilst it won’t be my go to for super authentic and good Korean food, I would go back to the restaurant for a group event/ night out!

Gamja tang: broth is clean and not greasy, not too spicy, meat of the pork rib falls off the bone easily, perilla is really good in it Soy and garlic fried chicken is flavorful and crispy. The regular makgeolli is better than the raw honeycomb IMO

The food, drinks and service was great! I came with a big party of 14-18 people for dining and karaoke and the staff was very accommodating. Will come again for sure, the chive pancakes, Rose Ttukbokki and the slush cocktails were my personal favorites!

This speakeasy deserves 5 star from the vibe to the food. I went with some girlfriends and we had a good time by ending the night with the karaoke. Definitely recommend!

If you’re here for a fun night out with drinks and karaoke it seems like a solid option. Really nice atmosphere and similar to what you’d find in Manhattans Ktown. That’s where the similarity ends however as the food was not comparable to what we were expecting coming from NY which was unexpected considering it’s priced the same. Only the marinated crab tasted right, but the Bossam and Chicken were not good. Both very bland, with a mushy texture, and no banchan. It’s pretty clearly a spot that’s focused on drinking and karaoke so it was disappointing as a good Korean restaurant in South Loop would be amazing to have. We’d only come back for a night out but don’t come looking for food you’d normally find at Korean spot in NY/LA

Food is ok, service is below an average. The hardest thing about this restaurant is the communication. I tried to contact them asking about my refund via OpenTable. Unbelievably, it took me almost a month and still didnt get the answer after calling them repeatedly. I kept calling them almost every day, and they kept telling me to call the next day, "I will talk with my boss, you can call back by tomorrow" giving me the same answer for three weeks. Even after emailing them, there's still no response. So, be careful if you guys want to ask about a refund with them, you will wait for an answer forever of your life.
