Simple and authentic. No complaints here. I came for ramen, and I got ramen. The spicy miso ramen is what I got and I was pretty satisfied.

They do not serve alcohol, but they do byob for anyone wondering.

The bathrooms were also very clean as well as the restaurant. Overall, worth checking out.

Takumi Ramen offers a cozy spot for enjoying a variety of flavorful ramen, from spicy miso to Tokyo shoyu. The restaurant is casual and welcoming, with options for dine-in, takeout, and delivery. Portions are generous for the price, and the broth and noodles are consistently well-prepared.

Fast service, delicious food. I couldn't ask for more when i was trying to hide from the cold for a bit before a concert across the street.

Ramen was average, but I’m suspect at how fast it came out. okonomiyaki was just plain awful. Dry, inside, lacking any real amount of cabbage- guessing it was frozen first, yuck. Service was subpar. Could clearly tell we were done eating and servers never came back to ask if we wanted anything else- and then we had to ask for the check. Atmosphere is fine, they kept a lot of the furniture from SKY

BYOB (for now)

Takumi is in the heart of Pilsen, where SKY used to reside and has the same upscale interior.

They’re still settling into the space, but the ramen was really exceptional. I had the spicy miso ramen which was so light and delicious with a perfect kick. My husband’s spicy tonkatsu ramen was super rich and flavorful. We also had an order of gyoza which were good, but nothing too special. The ramen is the real star here!

The ramen was good but the service was actually terrible.

I was seated at the bar and given menus that were quite literally soaked and stuck to the bar. I had to ask for them to be cleaned and dried off. When I got my ramen I requested the spice set up that is on all the other tables and the food runner said I have to pay $1.50 for spice. I said no and asked if they could bring me the spice that is already on all the tables. He then did. About half way through my meal I asked for napkins and container to go. I never received the napkins and only got the container after asking 3 different people. The third person was my server who never checked on me. I sat and waited a long time to get the container and my check. While I was waiting the servers and myself realized someone behind me had left without paying. Almost forgot to mention, I think it was the door dash POS that kept dinging very loudly. It went off every 1-2 minutes or so. So annoying and ruining the atmosphere. Why was it so loud? Overall, the staff seemed to not care about giving good service. I will not be dining in again.

To start, I think most of Takumi’s food is good! I generally enjoy the ramen & their appetizers are ok (some taste a bit like packaged, frozen food), and also for context, I am Japanese, born & raised in Tokyo.

However, I think the owner and/or chef can do a little more research on different types of ramen, especially as none of the staff are Japanese. For example, the Tokyo Shoyu Ramen traditionally is a clear, darker soy sauce based broth, but the ramen broth I was served was Tonkotsu, which is a richer, fatter broth traditionally from Hakata in southern Japan. Again, the food is good but I had to ask to get clarification because what I was served is different from what’s typical and not what I was expecting. It took a long time for the staff to even get back to my question, avoiding eye contact with me and all, but they insisted I was wrong and even told me that the tonkotsu was actually clearer… I know I was probably being harsh and this is just a regular restaurant but just take off the shoyu ramen if it’s just going to be identical to the tonkotsu based ramens.

I went to this ramen place yesterday and it was really impressive! The broth was rich and flavorful, and the noodles had the perfect texture. What surprised me the most was the appetizer — beautifully presented and full of flavor, you can tell the chef really pays attention to the details. The whole dining experience was comfortable and pleasant, and the service was warm and attentive. I’ll definitely come back again!

Very fast and very good service. Ramen was also delicious. Exactly what I needed on a colder day. Plus they got me in and out fast before the show across the street at Thalia Hall.

We had the spicy tonkatsu and spicy miso ramen. The noodles are cooked great, nice bite. The broth was well seasoned and spicy as advertised! We love spicy, so it was perfect for us. We also appreciated the amount of noodles to broth ratio: plenty of broth and noodles to fill us up! We also had the tonkatsu starter. It was very crunchy, umami, and delicious! We are definitely coming back and trying out more dishes!
