My family and I had an incredible dinner at Tama! The food was delicious, and we were huge fans of the beef skewers, empanadas, and patatas bravas. The burnt basque cheesecake was the perfect way to end the night. We also received great service throughout the meal. I will definitely be back!

My second time here and I already am planning my next visit. The food is consistently outstanding and the head chef / owner is so kind and welcoming.

This place was delicious! Server, Quinn, was delightful! All the food was delicious! Highly recommend the empanadas and short rib!

Cocktails were amazing, as was the tuna carpaccio, the mushrooms, and the ribeye. The basque cheesecake is out-of-this-world but no coffee service to complement it. Service started out as excellent with good wine recommendations but we felt very rushed at dessert.

TÁMA blew us away. The food is mind-blowing, especially the rib orzo, which was insanely tender. The cheesecake slapped. Sitting at the counter feels like you're in the kitchen in the best way. Intimate, creative and absolutely worth it.

Was there for a private event. The chef introducing each entree was the best The food was amazing The home-like setting is a classic touch

One of the best new restaurants I've tried in a while! The food and service were both equally amazing. This is my new go-to place!

We went in, for the first time, just to get a drink at 9:00 one night. Then we went back for meals four times in the next 2 weeks. The food, across many menu items, is just incredibly delicious.

We loved our lunch at Tama's and look forward to returning. We had carapaccio, mussels, patata bravas and all were delicious. Staff was friendly and very accommodating. We went for lunch, and the staff kindly turned the ambient music down, however, I am sure the place is rockin' in the evening. Great local place.

Tama is one of my favorite restaurants in Chicago all the food is beautiful creative and made with care. Everything is so great and I cannot recommend it enough. I have never had anything there that was not stunningly good and complex

I never write reviews, but the service from one specific server was so bad that I feel obligated to. It was genuinely the worst service my boyfriend and I have experienced.

We arrived early for our reservation last Friday night and were seated right away. Our server - a brunette woman with long hair and a slight accent - took our drink order but then disappeared for nearly 30 minutes without returning to take our food order. During that time, she took orders and/or delivered food to several tables that were seated after us.

When she finally brought our drinks, she said she’d come back for our food order after dropping off drinks at another table. However, she then stopped to chat and greet a group of women who had just sat down two minutes earlier, showing zero urgency to check back with us. At that point, it had been almost 40 minutes without being helped, so we finally asked another server to take our order. He took care of us right away and apologized for the wait - something our own server never did.

When she came back and we told her we’d already ordered, she just said “with who?” - no apology, no acknowledgment, nothing. From there, she acted even colder and did the bare minimum.

Especially for the price point and overall vibe of Tama, this level of service is unacceptable. I’ve had better, faster, and friendlier service at packed taco spots.

Everything else was excellent; the scallops, short ribs, and agnolotti were outstanding, the ambiance was beautiful, and the other staff (including the male server who helped us) were great. It’s a real shame, because this could’ve easily been a 4- or 5-star experience. I would’ve gladly come back, but unfortunately probably wouldn’t because of the server.

What a wonderful find! Once in a while, I'll just go on and look for something new and this one was a huge hit. We sat at the counter looking into the kitchen, and that was a wonderful idea. The menu was smaller, but very diverse, and every single item was fabulous. There was not a dish that I would not recommend. One of the chefs was guiding us through our dinner and our waitress is also amazing.
