Made a reservation weeks in advance for a girls trip, waited an hour for a table and were never sat. Super disappointing and the staff were not communicative - will not return!

Tango Sur is my favourite steak restaurant in Chicago. The steaks are excellently cooked and the menu is so interesting with many different cuts. I highly recommend Vacio, El Filet and the mixed grill as well as their empanadas.

Their prices have unfortunately rose so much over the years that it's like you're eating at a high end place without the nice ambience and the good service. I will probably come back but only for an occasional treat.

Came here for dinner and ordered the empanadas and the cheese dish for appetizers. The beef empanada was very good! The ham and cheese was meh and the cheese dish was not something I would order again. No flavour at all.. For main courses, we had the Argentine eggplant parmesan, the beef kebab, and the ribeye steak. Everything was very flavourful and the portion sizes are huge, but the star of the evening was the chimichurri sauce. Absolutely fantastic! Very garlicky and full of flavour. Service was good. The ambience is nice with candlelight only at the table, but it is a bit dark and as the tables are close by, the noise is a bit loud. In spite of this, I DEFINITELY recommend! Don’t forget to follow me!!

As an Argentinian I must confess I was surprised to not find Argentinian dishes correctly done. The empanadas are the not Argentinian recipe, they taste like something else. Food extremely salty. People who work there are super nice but that’s not Argentinian food correctly done.

Great food! Great price! Waitstaff is friendly! Having reservations and still having to wait for a table? Not so much...

We recently dined at Tango Sur on Southport, and overall, it was an amazing experience! The food was absolutely incredible – every dish we ordered was bursting with flavor and cooked to perfection. From the appetizers to the main courses, everything was a 10/10. The ambience was equally impressive. The warm, cozy atmosphere made it feel intimate yet vibrant, creating the perfect setting for a night out.

The only slight downside was the service, which could have been faster. While the staff was friendly and attentive, the wait time for our food was a bit longer than expected. However, the quality of the food and the wonderful ambience more than made up for it.

If you're looking for authentic Argentinian cuisine with a fantastic vibe, Tango Sur is definitely worth a visit. Just be prepared for a more relaxed pace when it comes to service!
