I’ve traveled all over the greater Chicagoland area for Vietnamese food. Exploring most of the highest recommended pho shops. Tank in my opinion has the best food. The negative reviews are all about politics. Not about product or service. 25 yr regular customer.
I was in the place the last day it was open and I really did not like the pho at all, I am a frequent client with my family and I had never had a very strong complaint. But that day from the service of the waitress. with her attitude and questioning my order , even the flavor of the pho had no flavor and brought me the size that she wanted. My son wanted a drink of mamgo and she told him no better drink this one not that. Then, annoyed, I told him not to swallow the drink. When I paid my bill, it was $125. for 2 pho small,1 big, a coke and a smoote. Because they already charge a 20% tip automatically. I will definitely not come back.

Food is incredibly mediocre. As a southeast Asian person, it’s a disappointment to see their restaurant do as well as they do, but people like what they like. I’ve been there about 3-4 times in the past, prior to them revealing their true selves, and was disappointed each time.
My biggest gripe is seeing the owners fly across the country during a pandemic to participate in the January 6th Insurrection in Washington DC and feeling no remorse about what they did per their Facebook
If you're not bothered by their participation of Jan 6th, at the very least, you should not be okay with them withholding wages from their hardworking employees. Yeah, go look into that one too.
Embarrassment to Vietnamese people, small business owners, and Chicagoans. 4.2 Stars is highly overrated for this business

I was excited to try Tank Noodle based on the hype about their pho and spring rolls, but this place was a total disaster. The portions looked generous at first glance, but the food tasted off, like it had been sitting out too long. I ordered the vermicelli noodles with lemongrass and shrimp, and it was bland and greasy. Worse, just a couple hours after eating, I felt horribly sick, nauseous, stomach cramps, the works. Probably food poisoning from the “fresh” ingredients they boast about. Avoid this spot unless you want to spend your night regretting it. Service was rushed, and the prices aren’t worth the risk.

First I loved the convenience of this restaurant, it situated at a perfect corner where you can walk by from different streets that making the restaurant easily recognized. Second, I love the servers who are in their Middle Ages & orders which impressed me how efficient everyone works. Last bit not least, the foods are over all good. 8/10 rated in my opinion just because 1 out of 6 dishes I ordered that not that well prepared just as the soup base too simple & not quite authentic among Vietnamese dishes from central of VietNam. I have to said jobs well done with such a various menu. Strongly recommended this restaurant to everyone. Will come back soon ❤️

Owner is a January 6'thr. That being said, food is actually ok, not incredible (especially for the price) but ok. 3 for the food but 1 for the ownership

I used to love this place and then I found out they were involved in January 6. Don't go here. Support other local businesses instead that don't support fascism.
Overall is nice.
Very basic but the food is good.
Good phoods.

I have tried several Vietnamese pho restaurants in the area, and this one was my favorite. The portions are generous, and the broth is rich and flavorful. One small downside for me was seeing a cart used to collect leftover dishes and food from tables, which felt a bit unpleasant. That said, the food itself is excellent.

Best pho place around and a great selection of Vietnamese food in Chicago. We always come here if one of us is sick or just to enjoy a hot pho on a cold winter day.

the catfish congee gave my grandma food poisoning. they do not care about freshness of ingredients and if the kitchen has overstock of bad ingredients be prepared to visit the doctor. do not be afraid to send back soup or seafood that doesnt smell good, it might be bad! if you offer seafood every day it must be good quality EVERYDAY. I would have taken a picture of her vomit but she flushed it before I could.

Most friendliest staff ever!!! I wish I could give a higher rating for service! Loved the fresh shrimp spring rolls. I got the beef noodle soup and it was delicious! Very large portion, so come hungry.

I went to this establishment and was given a receipt for 18 dollars and some change. I checked my credit card and was charged 23 dollars and some change. I called and the young lady was sure I was mistaken. When I checked my credit card the next day, it was fixed
IF I DIDNT CALL , WOULD THIS HAVE BEEN FIXED? Check your receipt and your debit or credit card the next to make sure the amounts match!
