Another delightful Omakase experience at Tanoshii made even more special by the awesome Michelle and David. We got to try a couple of delicious new (to us) creations by the chefs in addition to our favorite escolar with the shitake and truffle oil. Oh, the scallops were especially fresh and perfectly cooked with the crisp coating --- we joked that we could have ended with just more of that! Looking forward to our next dinner here - the chefs were actually recommending another Omakase menu but we went with our usual selection, so maybe next time we will try the nigiri Omakase. Dining early is key to a quiet and more relaxed atmosphere.
Tanisha was Ok, not the greatest sushi but excellent calamari and teriyaki. Terrific service.
Server was so helpful and kind. Food was delicious. Music was cool too. Have been here many times in the past and will for sure go again! :)
Always love it there. The chef specials (mushroom in particular) and the fish and chips are the best. It's a pretty space and relatively quiet. The service is great.
What an amazing discovery! I'm town for the restaurant show and all the "high end"' sushi places were sold out. My daughter suggested Tanoshii and I'm so glad she did. The "chefs roll" which changes day to day was so good I wanted another. Uni sushi was so fresh and it was topped with a little truffle oil. Damn! It's a casual sushi place with exceptional service and very very good food!!
The sushi is amazing. Do the omakase, you won't regret it. Everything we had was delicious.
Food took 2.5+ hours to be served. Waiter seem very annoyed to be working. Overall terrible over priced experience. Wasn't even 60% full and took forever to receive our food which was mediocre
The omakase at Tanoshii is amazing. We are always delighted by the selections. Some of the most creative specialty rolls and great value for money. Service is fantastic. We always feel welcomed by Michelle, Dave,Kaylee and the team.
Loved the service! The omakase was amazing. All unique pieces and rolls. Highly recommend!

The sushi was amazing I had one of the Valentine's specialty rolls. Michelle our server was so bubbly and sweet!
Not the best omakase in Chicago by a long shot, but a good place for you to go with your parents

Sushi was excellent, the hamachi roll and believe it or not the field green salad were really good. Staff there were super friendly and attentive.

The sushi here was some of the best sushi I've had in years - and I unashamedly consider myself to be a sushi snob. But Tanoshii was a complete surprise. The omakase rolls were creative, original and outstanding. Our waitress was extremely knowledgeable about the food, and how our palates would be satisfied. I'm so sorry for not remembering names! And the sushi chef was amazing at creating omakase-like rolls, which I've never seen before, whether it be San Francisco, LA and New York. I highly recommend getting to Tanoshii & be open to exploration. Prices were reasonable but most importantly, the quality of the fish & the preparation was fabulous.
