Amazing authentic Ecuadorian recipes. I’m Ecuadorian and I love the fusion with American dishes too

As we entered we saw the true picture of our beautiful United States of America, the hall was full of people from almost every part of the world, families and couples were laughing talking and enjoying the food.
We were there for breakfast the staff was very welcoming and courteous we had garden omelet orange juice hot tea and French toast.
The whole experience was delightful.

Delicious crepe and french toast breakfast plates - the highlight being the sides which were very filling. Unfortunately, the crepes were rubbery and cold, so I personally wouldn’t order them again. Otherwise, this was a great visit. The menu had many options and was reasonably priced. I would’ve come back again during my stay in Chicago had I found this restaurant sooner.

Where do I start. My GF and I wanted to try a new restaurant, so we came here on 09/21/2025. Was seated outside. No problem. Spoke with the waitress, who didn’t tell us her name, about ordering a Margarita. The waitress suggested one so I said, I’ll try it. Drink came out and it did not taste great. After that sip I just put it to the side. Waitress came out and asked if I liked it. I guess she notice it was not touched. Told her it did not taste great. She then said “did I want to try another one” which made it seem like since I didn’t drink this one, we can switch it out. I said sure, I’ll try the mimosa. Here’s where it the foolery happened
She came out with the check. Grabbed my card and paid. I should’ve looked at the bill first My GF noticed that the Margarita was still on the bill. She asked why that it was still on the bill, since she didn’t not mention that I still will be charged after she offered if I wanted another. The waitress then said that she can speak with her manager. After she spoke with her manager, she pretty much said there’s nothing else that can be done. The waitress then asked if we wanted to speak with the manager, we said yes.
Manager came out and did not introduce herself. Just asked if we wanted a receipt. We explained to her that “staff” DID NOT mention that I would be charged since she offered to try a new beverage. The Manager stated we don’t do tasting, where we responded with I wasn’t trying to taste it, it just wasn’t made well.
After going back and forth again with the manger, she then offered us a refund. She came back and handed us our refund. No apology at all. Just handed us the refund and walked away
You never know who will enter your establishment, so be very mindful and respectful. As a manager, you should have customer service skills

After a beautiful service at St. Benedict, we decided to try Savana. Unfortunately, the experience started off on the wrong foot—the hostess was monotone, disengaged, and made it feel like we were inconveniencing her. First impressions matter, and this one set the tone. After being seated, it took about ten minutes before anyone offered coffee or took our order. The food arrived quickly and was decent, but nothing memorable. The juice was loaded with pulp, which wasn’t enjoyable. Overall, it was an underwhelming visit.

My friend and I checked this place out for brunch and it was absolutely delicious! Our server Viviana was incredibly attentive and friendly, and the food was fantastic. The portions were huge & the food was very high quality as well. I can’t wait to come back and try more!

Had brunch at Savanna Breakfast & Lunch in Northcenter this morning and it was a total vibe. Ordered the llapingachos Benedict and red velvet pancakes. The llapingachos were crispy and cheesy, topped with poached eggs and hollandaise. The pancakes were fluffy and sweet, with cream cheese and strawberry compote. Service was quick and friendly, and the atmosphere was cozy. Definitely coming back to try more!

Ordered a veggie skillet.
Was pretty plain and unremarkable.
Needs more flavor.
Side of toast was too soft, barely toasted.
Overall, the food was a little below average.
