I loved my bistec!! Omg it was delicious! It came with everything, sliced avocado, lettuce, tomato, rice and beans. I asked for it not to be too spicy because I'm a big baby. Lol. It was perfect. I had a taste for steak and peppers en jugo and it was on point!! I have no idea what some of these other comments are talking about. The staff was so so friendly and welcoming. My wife and I came to order a dinner we were going to share. Right when we walked in, everybody was very welcoming and very very nice. We ordered the bistec and it was delicious. It was so tasty and the meat was really tender. It was exactly what my wife had taste for. The ranchera-type red salsa on top of the steak really made the flavor and juiciness of the steak even better. I'm not sure what other people are talking about. I'm going to assume they're not from Chicago or don't know what good food is. Comales has always been known for their small tortillas but they've always filled them up. That has always been one of their staples(and still is). I do agree they are a bit pricier than other places but not by much(honestly it's just a few dollars) but the quality of the food, the kindness and hospitality of the staff, and the really cool atmosphere is worth it. STAY AWAY FROM THIS RESTAURANT. They charged me $22 dollars for two eggs. A spoon of rice a spoon of beans and a small thin layer of steak. $22 dollars. Is way to much. This is why restaurants don't have customers. They abuse the price.

Went to eat here & although the service was good the food was terrible. We ordered chips & salsa & the salsa looked/tasted like tomato soup than the flautas we ordered were practically burned not to mention my taco was very small. Definitely not worth the money, luckily there's better places to get Mexican food from

Always stop to eat here when we are at Chicago. Or we drive 2 hours to eat here from Indiana. The suadero gorditas taste just like the ones from Mexico City. The Tacos and the agua de tamarindo 100% authentic not the fake mix.
