It's a special place. The Guerrero owners brought something special to Chicago. I come from south Chicago for good pozole. Many grains and with legs. Since I tried the red pozole, I have returned several times for a plate. Very tasty with leg and pieces of chicharron, it is something very authentic! The small portions are the reason I didn't give them five stars.
Review is for the chips and salsa and the Pozole. The salsa was very good. I liked that it was nice and warm too. The pozole wasn't the best I've had but was good. I like that they give you chicharron as a topping.
As a native of Mexico, I was glad to see Omatepec serve fresh salsa on the “molcajete”; however, the chips were not warm or fresh. The menu is extensive and includes the dish of the day. Today, Monday, the special is”costillas de res en salsa verde.” I decided to order two tacos: steak and chicharron. Both are flavorful and well served. I also ordered a cinnamon tea that the server recommended. Omatepec is a place to try again for sure. Good service.Suggestions: give...
