Editing my review - we had a party for 30 ppl catered. Picked up the food there. Had tacos, quesadillas, chile rellenos, and plenty of the salsa negra and guac. It was amazing. Highly recommend this place.

So disappointed in my caldo en su jugo. Tasted like tomatoes, no avocado no bacon. Waisted 16$ ended up just eating the chips and salsa.
I only carry out. Tamales great. Tacos are outstanding. I wondered why their chicken soup was so expensive. Oh, it's family size and has lots of chicken, and the best broth I have ever tasted.

If you haven’t been here in the last 5 years, don’t expect the tacos to be the same, or the salsa. Prices are absolutely crazy for the quality of unseasoned taco, drink prices are just crazy too. Avoid this place, go spend your hard earned money somewhere else.

Firstly, we called and asked if they offer a California style burrito. We explained that entailed fries and guac on the inside, to which the employee stated to just come in and that they’d make it for us as they have all of the ingredients. Great. We head over. Service was prompt, however, I was shocked to see the total. $60 for 2 burritos (no rice and beans) and 2 margaritas in Avondale is outrageous. They failed to communicate that there would be an additional charge of 8.50 for adding fries and avocado to the burritos. Would have been nice to know. Will not be returning. Also, mind you, margs are listed for $10 a pop but we were charged $13! Total ripoff.

This was by far one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. First of all, the food was absolutely terrible—barely edible. The portions were laughably small for the price they charged. But the real issue was the dishonest business practices.
When I first paid, they purposely didn’t give me a receipt. My brother-in-law later pointed out that the amount they charged seemed way too high. So I went back to ask for a receipt which took them forever to provide. After ringing me up a second time to give me the receipt the total was completely different the cashier (a man) smiled in my face and gave me the receipt back instead of fixing the mistake there after pausing and looking at the receipt for a while looking like he definitely noticed the mistake he still stood quite and didnt give me the money back which he could have easily said he made a mistake the first time .
It took my brother-in-law going back a third time before they finally returned the money they overcharged. This place is not only serving bad food, but they’re also shady with their pricing and customer service. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. Avoid it at all costs.
I have been a huge fan of lost Tropic us for almost 20 years now. Their black salsa is to die for. For Cinco de Mayo, I ordered the mini tacos with plenty of extra salsa to treat my clients and I keep getting requests for the name of that place.

Traspasada is a go-to Restaurant for me. I stop in for a meal every time I am in Chicago to enjoy their authentic Mexican dishes.
Today I had Pollo en Mole along with 2 tacos de tripa. It was amazing. The Mole was among the best I have had. Rich and earthy, a little sweet and a little spicy.

Honestly, I'd skip the tacos here. The flavors were seriously lacking - I tried the taco asada and el pastor, but they just didn't hit the spot. If you're craving tacos, there are better spots to check out. That being said, the atmosphere is lively and the staff is friendly, so it might be worth visiting for a drink or other menu items.

I understand enough Spanish to know what "travesta" means, your employees should at least wait for customers to leave the restaurant before they start talking trash about them...
