I brought my family here and on one order there was a thick black hair in the soup. When we brought it up to the waitress's attention she told us they've told the cooks to wear their beard netting but they don't listen. Shame because I used to order from here all the time. At least they took the soup off the bill.

Please eat here or pick up food from here!!! It is so so so good! Lot of vegetarian options, amazing black salsa, and yummy soup that you get on the house while you’re waiting!

Tacos are delicious. Chilaquiles negros are unreal

I NEVER EVER leave bad reviews unless something was especially heinous , egregious or just jarring. My fiancé and me used to go here all the time but hadn’t been in a while so we decided to drop in to enjoy some of that amazing black salsa and get a hot meal. Service was really attentive and friendly as always so that’s a plus. THE HUGE horrid issue was the deceptive and non transparent practices. We ask for the check and saw we were charged for more of the complimentary salsa and chips for $3. After asking why that was the waiter just simply stated it’s on the menu in text at the very bottom of one of the pages that you pay after 1 round of it. Ok that’s fine and dandy but it’s not obvious whatsoever and they didn’t even mention or give a heads up that it’d be a charge after asking if we wanted more. Absolutely WORST of all on the receipt there was a charge called “ miscellaneous “ for $2 and after inquiring they just pointed to our to go box on the table. We literally went HUH??????? Who charges for to go boxes???????!! It was literally just one!! I have never in my life been to a place that charges for a box to take your meal home, that’s ABSURD. But how are you not even gonna disclose that, and just be sketchy by making it “ Miscellaneous “ hoping we wouldn’t notice or say anything!!!!! It’s one thing to have a policy but to not even mention it and just sneakily add it on without saying a word to give the customer the option is just unacceptable. INSANE. Am I supposed to just finish my food in one sitting or ask for a pile of napkins because you charge for a to go box?? We had to keep pushing till they gave us a refund.
This all left a bad taste in my mouth and made me not want to ever be back again.

I love this casual neighborhood taquiera. The food comes out fast & fresh. The staff are always friendly, inviting, and take great care of the guests whether you’re in a big group or having dinner alone. The black salsa has a rich savory flavor with a mild spice. The strawberry margarita is a lovely treat after a long week. 10/10

Food was great . Lots of food on your plate . I had the green chili chicken enchiladas. They were so good. I got a dog bag and they warmer up nicely. The salsa was black and taste really good. I can't wait to go back and try the chili rellenos.

I got delivery from here for me and my partner on a Friday night. It came relatively quickly.

I got the chicken burrito dinner, it came with a side of rice and refried pinto beans. It was good, more of a so cal style burrito, small chopped chicken almost shredded, barely any rice or beans in the burrito, and I added fajita veggies, and fresh jalapeños. It was spicy but more mild.

My partner got the camarone’s burrito (shrimp) and he said it was really good.

I also got a side of the black salsa which was full of chilis and a mild amount of spicy. Then I got the guacamole with chips.

Overall it was one of the better burritos I have had in Chicago.

Ain’t no one gonna tell me that this place doesn’t have the best Mexican food I had my torta yesterday filled with steak and everything I requested avocado everything and then I had a burrito the steak, cilantro and onion with avocado it was to die for the staff was extremely nice and I will continue to support this business God bless you and can’t wait to see you guys again thank you so much amazing food I forgot to take a picture because i ate it! It and it comes with three hot sauces or however many you requested! 3 , types, red green and like a black oh my God delicious and I don’t live in this neighborhood. I came from a further neighborhood because I had to have my fix of tres Pasada!!!! . Good people here when I walked in the door, I believe I saw one of the owners doing a cheers with family! They were sitting there and celebrating Christmas and he was very kind. Very kind people.! People make time eating eat out don’t matter you will not be disappointed. Don’t always follow reviews go in and try something for yourself. I will be back.

There is a buy one get one free special plate special on instacart, I bought 6 plates, I know three are free My total still came up to $60 since I ordered a tamale place and 2 tacos and 2 aguas frescas, my taco specials were Milanesa, I know it's a special but the quantity of meat on the taco was embarrassing.. never ordering again from here, so disappointed I could have easily spend my money somewhere else to get at least a good decent taco, my family was in shock when they opened the plates.

At 6:05p I ordered a torta and 2 tacos for delivery which said delivery through Grubhub which said delivery would be 6:58 p.m.- 7:13. There were 2 delays and my food wasn't delivered until 7:35p p.m. Everything was beyond cold as if it were in a refrigerator. The delivery guy handed me the food and asked for a 5-star review. Since when do they ask?

Absolutely terrible over charged me on a can of soda for 4.50 told the lady she gave me some money back in cash the tacos is mediocre charged me 7 dollars for the toppings terrible can make the same thing at home will never come back
