Honest review - Just stay away, especially if you are not Hispanic. The cashier was on the phone the entire time never said hello, and when I did ask a question, he was irritated. We finally just walked out. No lies!

Tacos always a hit.
My childhood taqueria still slaps. I grew up next door to the families of the owners. And we went there regularly for years until we moved out in the late 90s. Took my best friend (a foodie) and he was blown away.
Decades later, there is stillnothing like the consistent texture and perfect-chew-ratio of those carne asada tacos.

It was my family’s first time at the restaurant, had high hopes for this place. The food was amazing and fast to bring out. But it our waiter(had glasses and a white and black hair) he was very rushy and rude. We were looking at the menu still and he was rushing my family to order. He was very disrespectful to my daughter.

I’ve been coming here for several years now and I was disappointed to see that they have changed the tortilla for the tacos. Waiter said they are now using white corn tortillas instead of the regular ones. They are using a cheaper tortilla and still charging $5.00 a taco. Very disappointing

Don’t get me wrong the place looks authentic and homemade type but I don’t judge a place off looks, more off the style and flavor a good authentic Mexican restaurant can produce in that kitchen, here at Taquerias Atotonilco this is just more for the looks than the flavor. They have the audacity to say they make authentic Horchata when clearly it’s poured powder from a bag with some added sugar? I wouldn’t recommend a spot to anyone whose workers lie about the quality of their food and how it’s made Then have the audacity to charge +$4.00 a taco that has no flavor every single one of their meats flavorless? I get if I was diagnosed with no taste buds then clearly i recommend this place for you! Other than that this place is a hangout spot with less flavor than Taco Bell. I would include they charge the entire table so splitting a bill would be like someone filing their taxes for the first time.

I was deeply disappointed since I've heard great things about the food here. It turned out that this restaurant has insanely unsanitary operations where leftovers of complimentary vinegary carrots (for the table), red sauce, and limes are reused and served to new customers from previous ones. The waiters would clean up a table, put the carrots, sauce, and limes back in to the fridge. Then when new customers come in, they take them out again to serve. Even the same plastic utensil and everything. It's a huge opportunity for a disastrous contamination situation. Pretty sure it's not compliant for food safety policies either.
Please avoid going here!
