One of the best dinners I have ever had. We have spent years in India and have often thought that a South Asian fusion would be tremendous, and here it is... in a very outstanding way. The courses were all well thought out and executed. The first course was our least favorite, but was still good. The wine pairings were exceptional, really exceptional. Cocktail pairings were good and interesting, but paled in comparison to the wine pairings. The service was attentive, informative, and excellent. We loved contact with the chef, who is a genius with his creations. I would love to come back if ever in Chicago again!

This is was our second time there and everything was amazing once again. The food is delicious and the wine pairing is very well done. Definitely recommend sitting at the chef's counter. Getting to chat with the whole crew throughout dinner makes the experience even better.

We had a wonderful anniversary dinner at The Coach House. The food was delicious, the service was wonderful and it was great to see Chef Zubair and hear his stories about the food.

Was looking forward to checking out the happy hour here. The best thing about this place was the location and ambience. The food was extremely mediocre. Ordered the sliders which had absolutely no flavor. The wings and truffle fries were pretty decent, and the lamb chops were bad to the point we had to send them back, which I rarely ever do. Overall, the service was great and staff were friendly. May give them another chance eventually for dinner if I choose to be bold enough.

We did the chef's table experience and it was fantastic. We chatted with Chef Jacob a lot and it was great to hear him talk about his chef journey and his Filipino background. We had one regular tasting and one vegetarian tasting in our party and every bite was so delicious. We'll be back!

The tasting menu was delicious and the service and attention to detail was wonderful. The space is small but that makes for a much more intimate experience. The chef proved that he was worthy of his James Beard award nominations.

Took my best friend here for happy hour and the atmosphere was amazing. The staff immediately greeted us and was prompt to seat us. We sat at the bar and the bartender (I forgot his name but he has a Jameson tattoo on his arm) was great! He recommended some drinks, entertaining, and overall was delightful to be around. The entire staff seemed to be helping each other. Usually when you ask a worker walking past for something it’s always “let me get your server.” Here everyone helped each other and it didn’t seem like it was an inconvenience for them. The drinks were spot on. My friend got some type of barbecue drink and that probably was the best drink I’ve ever had. We also got an expresso martini and I think the drink was called the hit. Idk but the drinks definitely got us right. The food, well we didn’t really order a lot but the food we did get I didn’t care for. The empanadas crust was very flaky, buttery, and soft but the filling was not good. My friend ordered the deviled eggs and she enjoyed them as well as the mussels. Overall it was a great experience and I will be coming back to try some more food.

Review: Taste 222 – A Must-Try Hidden Gem!

This is my third time at Taste 222, and every single time the food has been absolutely amazing. The vibe is intimate and unique—perfect for a relaxed, quality meal with friends or loved ones.

The Key lime pie is divine—I won’t say it’s better than mine, but it’s definitely close! The Creole Caesar Salad with cornbread croutons is a standout, and the cornbread itself is out of this world. The mac & cheese is rich and satisfying. My girlfriend had the catfish with sweet potato fries, and she loved it. The drinks are consistently great, and even my lawyer enjoyed her meal when we went together.

While my second visit had a small hiccup—our server didn’t seem especially warm—but the food and overall experience still made it worth it.

I definitely recommend checking out Taste 222. It’s cozy, stylish, and has a vibe that’s just different in the best way. If you go, tell them Nickey sent you!
