Hit up Taste Bud 1 for lunch last week—grabbed their Chicken Philly cheesesteak with fries and a soda. The chicken was seasoned just right, cheese melted into the hoagie good and the fries stayed crisp, none of that soggy stuff. Crew was chill, quick service. No‑frills West‑Side spot that oozes Chi‑town flavor. I went back later for the Double Jerk Philly—just as good. Five stars for real.

1st time ever going here and will never again go here, people that are drunk and high go here to get their fix 🤣 sorry but not sorry I ordered a double burger with cheese, for $19 definitely not worth it what did I get imitation meat from Aldi's the 10 pk on toast bread that's what it taste like and I also ordered a Jerk Philly cheesesteak they gave me imitation American cheese what Philly isnt made with mozzarella or provolone definitely would not order from here again it was definitely not good I couldn't even eat it even tho I tried and the fries smh not good at all had to throw away

Swung by Taste Bud 1 on Madison for a late lunch and grabbed the Best of Both Worlds Philly (steak & chicken) with fries—ran me about $17. The sandwich was solid: meat was juicy, peppers and onions cooked just right. Fries were decent, though a bit soggy by the time I got home. Staff was cool, service was quick. Not the best cheesesteak I've ever had, but definitely hits the spot when you're craving one. Will be back to try the jerk Philly next time.

Why the heck this place open and closes when they get ready to? I came Friday night after driving 3.5 hours and they were closed. Okay cool. Came today from driving a long ass way but I called when I was a hour out just to check and see if they were opened. THEY WERE!! I gets here and this mfr closed but somebody was just smoking weed outside and went in the door but when I get out the car to go to the door it’s locked with a CLOSED sign in the window. I sat there and watched 11 people pull up, go to the door and walk off in shame lol what kind of business are y’all running in this mfr.? I use to come here all the time years ago when I stayed out west but clearly times has definitely changed as well as work ethics. FIREHOUSE STEAKS AND LEMONADE on 87th Dan Ryan ARE JUST AS GOOD AND MUCH MORE PROFESSIONAL!! If the business operates like this now I will just have to assume the food isn’t as good as it used to be anyway. Thanks for saving me a disappointment. I’ll just remember how it used to taste and won’t recommend it to anyone else.

Haven’t had Taste buds since 2015 maybe and when I say my Philly was on point… babie it was just how I wanted it. I asked for my steak Philly to be on a Texas toast Bread.(Try it y’all) and Without any problems they definitely didn’t disappoint. Food still tastes the same. Coming from a Chef I can appreciate that. Thank you!

Me and my husband traveled from far south we bought 2 philly steaks and we got to our destination and the bread was not fresh the cheese wasn't melted it had hidden onions! We called and they were very rude about the situation We were stomach sick ? Tastebuds fell off bad

Good food. City needs to get this area some bike racks for sure, and put some picnic tables in that park nearby. This doesn't reflect on the business, just would be nice to have somewhere to eat outside without balancing a Styrofoam tray on my legs.
Vegetarian options: The veggie chicken Philly was great, would come back again to try the veggie steak Philly. They also have an egg and cheese sandwich. Better vegan/vegetarian selection than some others around here.
