I tried several of their teas, and I wanted to share my experiences with them! I tried their Christmas Tea. I steeped 3 grams in 12 ounces of 212 degree water for 2 minutes. I highly recommend the 2 minute steep time, as this delicious holiday blend does not shy away from the spices at all! This is *it* if you like Christmas teas! I love the bite of the clove, the brightness and zing of the orange, sweetness and spiciness of the cinnamon, the nuttiness of the almond, and the creaminess and the sweetness of the vanilla. I would say the orange and clove stand out to me the most, and the other flavors sing in the background. The black tea chosen for this too is lovely - smooth and a great base. I had this plain but I could see how it would stand up nicely to a little milk and sugar. This would be lovely and festive to have in the morning around the holidays with some French toast or warmed cinnamon rolls! If you’re looking for a festive spiced black tea to have around the holidays, this is for you! I tried their Masala Chai tea. I made it on the stovetop with organic milk and added a little organic sugar because I really wanted to bring out the spices and make the tea as creamy as possible in order to really taste everything. This chai is SO aromatic, cinnamon-forward, inviting, and perfect for fall! Upon sipping, I tasted mostly cinnamon and clove, followed by the ginger, with the cardamom in the background. I feel like everything marries together so beautifully in this blend and I love the black tea used as well. It is smooth and rich without being overpowering and really lets the spices shine. I also tried this iced and it is absolutely delicious that way as well. Such a treat! If you love sipping on a super aromatic and warming chai during cooler months, this is for you! I tried their Baked Apple tea. I steeped 3 grams in 12 ounces of 212 degree water for 2 minutes. This is a delicious autumnal black tea blend of apples and spice! I love how the dried apple pieces in this tea give it sweetness and fruitiness and also a tiny bit of a tart note. The cinnamon in here too is lovely, also a little sweet, and gives just the right amount of warming spice, complimenting the apple nicely. The black tea is smooth and has no astringency. I very much enjoyed this tea! This would be amazing in the morning with a croissant or even as a dessert tea!

Todays sampling is Chicago Teahouse Baked Apple. Upon opening the bag I was greeted with a beautiful aroma of a caramel apple sucker, so naturally, I was intrigued. After brewing it still smelled like a caramel apple sucker, so I felt that using brown sugar was the perfect sweetener of choice. The taste is kind of like an apple crisp. I don’t know if this is considered a dessert tea, but I was very pleased with the flavor combination. The ingredients are black tea, green tea, apple pieces, and cinnamon. The apple is definitely the star of this tea. I tried it hot and iced with sugar, and I enjoyed it both ways.

Recently tried a few blends and they were all exceptional. Below are my thoughts for these 3 Blends: 1.🍃Baked Apple With the changing of the seasons coming here in the Midwest, fall 🍁 flavors are abundant everywhere you turn. It’s apple harvest 🍂 season and this juicy baked 🥧 apple blend is perfect tea to help celebrate the harvest. The warming cinnamon spice is the perfect balance to the sweet apple notes bringing the black and green tea blend to an timeless and elegant afternoon tea time. Steeping this tea at 200 degrees for 3 mins, my first cup of this blend was enjoyed hot with no added cream or sugar. Since it is still a bit warm here in Iowa, my next cup was iced but added just a hint of sugar to the brewed tea before it cooled. This was a versatile blend for those days where its hard to decide if we want a hot or iced tea or a sweet or unsweetened tea. 🍏This one was winning in every combination.🍎 2. 🍃 Masala Chai Black Tea No. 80 from Chicago Tea House holds true to its name as “Masala“ means spices and “Chai” means tea which perfectly describes this blend as spiced tea. With ingredients of ginger, cloves, cinnamon and cardamom you can imagine the warming it brings to the senses and aromatic of fall in a cup. This steeped for 4 mins at 200 degrees and I topped this cup off with a tsp of brown sugar. It’s a lovely chai that can be enjoyed with or without sweetener and/or milk. 3. This festive holiday blend is Black Tea No.99 from Chicago Tea House. It’s a warm day here in the Midwest but something so comforting with this festive blend. It has the warming cinnamon notes swirled with the creamy vanilla. The subtle citrusy notes bring the brightness to the brew with a warm embrace of the cloves. Such a joyful blend to sip all year round whether cuddled in front of the Christmas tree with the fireplace going or waking up on a September Monday morning preparing for the week ahead.

Lovely tea selection alongside nourishing summer iced teas to sip on.

Great selection and knowledgeable staff. I like knowing my tea comes from a reputable source.

Edit: since the switch to Chicago teahouse, the selection of teas has drastically shifted, and its starting to give off more David's Teas vibes, with the super flavored teas. Less of the plain teas from different locations. Which is sad. They still have some of our daily drinkers for now, but we've been having to source some of our teas from different vendors. I understand change happens, but its still sad when one of your staples changes.

I tried 3 fruit teas and definitely enjoyed all 3. Strawberry Potion was full of sweet, sunny, full-on strawberry flavor without the overly sugared or artificial taste of many other strawberry teas. The Blood Orange Black blend was full of zesty and smooth orange. The orange wonderfully did not overwhelm the black tea. The final tea was Pineapple Mango. To this, I added local wildflower honey and received a delicious tropical tea. A strong pineapple flavor enriched by mango with floral notes was refreshing. All 3 teas were expertly crafted with harmonious flavor. I certainly will revisit these teas.

Chicago teahouse is a brand I have loved for a while. Half of my family is Polish and from Chicago, similar to the owner, and she also was the main sponsor/organizer of the Chicago tea festival this year- which I went to and absolutely would recommend! They also sell some super awesome unique blends and rare teas, including teas from New Zealand which I adore.

I was very excited when I was sent a few of their teas to try, gifted for my honest review. All 3 were fruity black teas, which are my #1 most drank teas, and I will provide brief reviews of each below.

First, the strawberry potion black tea- I had it both hot and cold brewed plain following the instructions (2 mins steep). I loved it both ways. To express how much I loved this tea- if I could choose only one flavored tea to drink forever, strawberry black tea would be it. And this is one of the best variations I have tried of it. Not artificial, truly fruity with a hint of creamy sweetness. The cold brew was made on 2nd steep of the same leaves, and still had a delicious strong flavor which speaks to the quality.

Next, I tried the blood orange black tea, which I had hot following the instructions - 2 mins steep. It brewed up beautifully with a dark copper color. I adore the flavor of citrus and orange in particular, but too often with citrus flavored teas I just taste soap. Not the case with this one at all. Instead, I got a beautiful fruity aroma with a bright, energetic orange flavor to match. It was really tasty hot and I did not feel it required any additions. I would definitely like to try it iced also. Another fruity winner in my book.

Third but not last, pineapple mango black tea. This was a heavenly smelling fruity blend which I had hot following the instructions - 2 mins steep. Pineapple and mango are two of my favorite tropical flavors and they marry together so well in this blend. I thought it was a perfect blend of both taste wise. Similar to the other fruity teas of this brand, it was fresh tasting and fruity forward with a natural sweetness; it did not taste artificially flavored. I would definitely repurchase this one and try it cold brewed as well.

The only downside to all of their teas is that I don't have more. Time to buy a refill! 🤩

Chicago Teahouse offers some truly delightful blends. Pineapple Mango is a tropical escape in a cup—fruity, smooth, and never too tart. Blood Orange Black is bold and balanced with vibrant citrus and a rich black tea base. And Strawberry Potion? Pure magic. It tastes like a strawberry pastry and feels like a cozy little spell. Every tea I’ve tried has been thoughtfully crafted and full of real flavor. Highly recommend!

Chicago Teahouse's Pineapple Mango tea is the focus of today's review, boasting a complex blend of black tea, pineapple, mango, marigold blossoms, rose petals, and mallow blossoms. The packaging yields a fragrant aroma of pineapple and mango, reminiscent of summer. Sampling the tea in both hot and iced formats with sugar revealed the pineapple and mango flavors as the prominent notes. While the hot preparation was satisfying, the iced version proved more refreshing. Overall, the teas sampled from this brand were impressive, and I will definely purchase from this brand.

Strawberry Potion feels like a summer afternoon in a cup. The black tea is bold and smooth while the sweet strawberry peeks through. A gentle astringency rounds it out, crisp and refreshing. It's the kind of tea you’ll want to sip slowly on a Sunday.

Blood Orange Black is a smooth black tea with just the right hint of orange. It reminds me so much of the Brach’s Royal Orange Cream Caramel candies that I loved so much back in the '80s. The retro vibe of this tea is so satisfying.

Pineapple Mango scent is absolutely intoxicating—lush and tropical straight from the package. It delivers exactly what it promises. Juicy pineapple and vibrant mango take center stage, creating a naturally sweet and refreshing cup that needs no added sugar.
