A year ago from today, for the first time I visited such an amazing and obvious place in Illinois as Terzo Piano. My girlfriend and I were delighted with the food, wine and view! It was a big surprise for my birthday! The location is amazing, great interior, with huge windows and great views of Lake Michigan and the Chicago downtown skyline. We had octopus (one of their most famous dishes) and soup, both were lovely and just as tasty as they looked. We also took desserts - very well-balanced flavors. Today We ordered a pizza... I look forward to reopening!!
Great place. Can't wait for them to reopen...
Went early on a Friday for lunch, so that we could head to the Warhol exhibit at the AIC before it closed. My companion noted how many of the Restaurant Week items had beans in them, so we ordered off the usual menu. I had the Crispy Brussel Sprouts ($13) which had to have been shaved on a machine, they were so thinly sliced. I loved the char and the cheese, and it was a huge portion, although it was a bit salty for me. To counter that, I had the Debbie Harry, ($10+) a crazy Warhol-inspired dessert that was a chocolate malt (not sweet enough!) topped with banana-flavored cotton candy, with a side of fries. I'd already reached my sodium limit, so I gave the fries to my friend, along with the chipotle mayo that came to dip my sprouts in.
Many don't even realize this restaurant is in the Art Institute. A bit pricey, but worth it. Not recommended if you're in a hurry. This restaurant gives visitors an opportunity to relax, enjoy good food at a nice pace while surrounded by great views of the city.
I wish I could be more positive, but the food on the Valentine's day 5 course menu was simply not good. Perhaps the regular menu is better, I hope?
Perfect setting for a lunch with conversation that does not fight with background noise and commotion. Charcuterie tray with a crisp wine was one of the best.
It was a very good meal! I will definitely be back. It's one of my favorite Chicago lunch spots!
Delicious fate Nice ambience Waiters friendly and helpful Nice way to enjoy ur visit to the museum
Ridiculously expensive for very little food especially once the huge, extra tax gets added just for dining downtown. Lunch for 2 with non alcoholic drinks: $56 + sales tax + $8 for random downtown dining tax + server tip is WAY too much for a small, thin piece of fish with a spray of greens on top, a small mushroom and tofu dish, iced tea and coffee. Do not waste your time and money here.
The food and service was excellent. We had the mushroom flatbread which was delicious as was the wild boar sugo which has a wonderful fresh made pasta with it. We also enjoyed the root beer!

If you want to enjoy a view of downtown Chicago and a simple, but delicious meal in an unhurried atmosphere...and with great art afterwards...you'd want to go to Terzo Piano on the 3rd floor at the Art Institute of Chicago. Fine art and fine dining at one fine place!
The deserts here are awesome
the food and view was awesome.
A delightful lunch this afternoon after relaxing amidst the great artwork of the museum. The service was attentive and food terrific. A bit pricey and a rather sterile environment. The menu featured great variety.
Good service, quiet, excellent!!!
