I've been to Testaccio twice now and both experiences were fantastic. Wonderful pasta and clearly very fresh fried calamari which is SO hard to find.

My boyfriend and I came in for a last minute dinner without a reservation and the hostess was able to seat us on the patio which we appreciated. We ordered the cacio e pepe and the focaccia, and they were both delicious! The cacio e Pepe was a little smaller than what you would receive at other restaurants, but it was just enough for one person, but I would keep that in mind if looking to share dishes.

Excellent in every detail. Unique food. Supreme service. And be sure to see Soif speakeasy in the basement.

Testaccio in Logan Square is a culinary oasis of southern Italian cuisine.Delicious and memorable plates freshly prepared by attentive cooking staff you can watch in action from the bar area.Service is top notch and the ambiance is homey and comfortable.

It was our first time at Testaccios, and we had a reservation as a group of 6 at about 8 o'clock. The table was half a table, half a booth, and it accommodated us all comfortably! The waitress was very friendly and gave some wonderful suggestions when we asked her what she recommended. She also made sure to ask about food allergies and/or sensitivity. The drinks and food also came out quickly. The only downside was that it was definitely a tad loud for our personal liking, at no fault to the restaurant, of course, It was just that busy with other people!! Overall, the atmosphere was great, and we loved the vibe!! We had a wonderful time and would definitely recommend it to anyone who would like to try it out!
Parking: We parked on the street about a block away.

Had a wonderful dinner here on a Friday evening. There are two separate sitting areas in the front near bar and the back. We sat close to the front and it was nice being away from the crowd. For appetizers, we had the Arrosticini (lamb), Baccala, and Artichokes. Enjoyed everything especially the Artichokes. Seems few places serve it. For the entrees, we shared the Cacio e Pepe, Wood Fired Mushrooms and Porchetta. It maybe the first time I've had Porchetta. I really like more of the outer fatty parts with the crunchy skin. The Pepe was simple but loved the firm fresh noodles. The service was very good.
Last minute Saturday dinner reservation for party of 4 to celebrate my Birthday. Hidden gem in Logan Square. Love the ambiance and the simplicity of it!

We loved it the first time; the second time was horrific in all aspects.Dried pork served with dried rhubarb? So confusing and not appetizing at all. Wondering if the chef changed because the quality of the food has went downhill. Not to mention the pasta was watery, the wait staff did not have any input on wines, and proceeded to give us the wrong check. In conclusion, you pay massive amounts of money for mediocre food. If you’re looking for quality Italian food, go to Il Porcellino in River North instead.
Had a very nice dinner here the other day. The pasta was phenomenal and interesting. The wine list is unique and reasonable. The space is small but tables were well spaced. Service was very good. I will be coming back.
