Top notch restaurant.
You'll miss it if you don't know it's there in the Hotel EMC2. Definitely brings a vintage, scholarly feel with a taste of modernization sprinkled in. Thoroughly enjoyed the food, the vibe, the ambiance and the experience as a whole 👌🏾

If you are a brunch fan, then you have to swing by here to try their brunch! It's an Italian style brunchissimo experience and it's definitely what you should experience. The decor inside of the Albert is already outstanding - old books everywhere like literally thousands of them in from what I was told some of them are limited addition or hard to find books. How dope is that? The live music is the next best thing. Live music is such a great touch to anything.
What I definitely enjoyed about this particular experience is the rolling carts that they have. They have a rolling cart to bring you various little appetizers that you can choose from or want to make your own crostini ? You can do that with the rolling cart and then they have a rolling cart for dessert. The drinks were also super good as well and I had no complaints when it came to those!
I can definitely say that everything I tried was delicious. I would highly recommend and return to myself.

The Albert is fantastic. The food and service is top notch. Our waiter Steve was fantastic. For me it is the best Italian restaurant in the city. The bar is great before or after dinner.
Experience the soul of Southern Italy, The Albert located in the Hotel EMC2. Chef Steve Chiappetti takes diners on a journey with a special menu rooted in his Calabrian heritage. The “Night’s of Little Italy” is available on the weekends now through Nov. 15th.
Chef skillfully crafts dishes inspired by his beloved nonna’s recipes blending old-world traditions with modern touches. Guests can select a four course feast for $65 per person served familia style or ala carte. The space has an elegant vibe with vibrant art work & an impressive library of books.
Our meal started with a tour of meatballs. There’s four varieties to choose from. I recommend trying all of them. There’s a prime beef with roasted garlic, chili, rosemary, beef gravy & asiago which was my wife’s favorite. I loved the oregano with pork, garlic, chili, fresh tomato sauce, & asiago. Chef’s comes from 4 generations of lamb farmers. I loved that he created a lamb with mint, garlic, chili, & asiago. I was impressed with the chicken with bacon, garlic, onion, chili, & asiago. It was topped with a delicious vodka roasted red pepper sauce. Next time, I’m going to want that over pasta.
I truly enjoyed the Italian anti pasta salad with salami, pepperoncini, blue cheese, pasta & red wine vinaigrette. It was one of the best Italian salads I’ve had plus there was meat in every bite. The fried calamari with spicy & sweet peppers, lemon garlic aioli, & tomato sauce was a huge hit. We also enjoyed a couple of martinis with blue cheese stuffed olives.
For entrees, we ordered the chicken scallopine with capers, tomato, lemon, white wine sauce over roasted potatoes. I loved the crispy chicken cutlet with the bright sauce. The capers added a nice pop to the dish. Our daughter loved the tender braised short rib with a blue cheese sauce over tasty polenta. I recommend going big with the lobster & shrimp scampi with spinach & garlic bread. I loved the spicy kick of the sauce. For dessert, end with lemon cookies & cannolis.
Chef Steve brings the tastes of Italy to Chicago with his wonderful menu. I feel like I’m in Sicily eating with my family!
Absolutely amazing place! Went here with my boys for breakfast and everything from the service to the food, atmosphere was top notch! The ambience of this place with the live music is magical.

I can confidently say that dining at The Albert was one of the best meals and service of my life. From start to finish, the experience was unforgettable — a perfect blend of thoughtful service and exceptional food.
The standout moment? My waiter curated the entire meal for me, carefully selecting each dish to complement the next. Every recommendation hit the mark. I started with the ahi tuna, followed by tender asparagus, flavorful chicken, and perfectly roasted Brussels sprouts. Each dish was beautifully prepared and balanced — both in flavor and presentation.
The service was not only attentive but impressively intuitive. It felt less like ordering off a menu and more like being guided through a personalized culinary journey. Huge thank you to Steve.
The Albert is, without question, a must-try for anyone in Chicago looking for a dining experience that’s both elevated and welcoming. I’ll be back — and bringing friends.

We first came to The Albert about two years ago and absolutely loved it. The food back then was creative, unexpected flavor combinations that somehow worked beautifully. We raved about it to friends and fellow travelers as one of our favorite spots in Chicago.
This time around, it was almost unrecognizable. The dishes tasted generic, like they came straight from Sysco or restaurant depot. What once felt inspired and elevated now feels mass produced and forgettable. Service was fine, but the food just wasn’t it.
Maybe it was a bad night, but unfortunately we won’t be coming back.

Tourist trap breakfast place. They use canned peaches on toast and canned mushrooms in their omelette …. Please avoid this place.

We stayed at EMC2 the 8th and 9th of September 2025. Everything about the hotel was wonderful. After a travel day we decided to try the Albert located in the hotel. Great choice. We had 2 breakfast and 2 dinner meals. Breakfast was good, no complaints. Dinner was fantastic. Between my wife and I we had 4 different dishes. The four cheese ravioli, lamb shank, sea bass and cioppino. All were cooked perfectly. Delicious. We also ordered split an order of the fonduta and asparagus. I highly recommend these as well. Special thank you to our server Kseniya. Professional, friendly and very timely. Also helped with making suggestions. Very good experience. Thank you

Their new Brunchissimo is delightful! A refreshing new concept with coastal Italian brunch. Loved the carts that come earlier with bruschetta and salads to choose from. The egg sandwich was out of this world as were the golden eggs. Had to get their pizza and that pistachio dessert. Cocktails are fab! Strawberry one was my fav. @chicagopescetarian

We shared two apps- smoked duck which was exceptional, and beets which was a lovely arugula salad. Then shared the tagliatelle pasta with beef- scrumptious, pasta was so fresh. Apple pastry with pistachio cream, just delectable- be warned that the dessert portions are HUGE. Service was attentive. Fun decor. Great location.
There are so many delicious places to eat in Chicago, I'm not sure that the Albert quite competes. It is quiet, a great setting, and convenient to those staying in the nearby hotels. It also looked great for families.
