I brought my mom here for her 85th birthday. The staff were so kind, friendly and knowledgeable. The drinks were delicious, the atmosphere was great, and the bartender was awesome. They all were also very helpful and accommodating with my mom, as she is in a wheelchair. She was so happy when we left and said it was great way to celebrate her birthday.

We had another outstanding visit to the Alderman which has become our goto “speakeasy” in the city. As soon as we walk in and greated by Jeremy and John, we feel at home. The drinks crafted by Roger and Cesar are top shelf. While the Alderman doesn't serve food, Pilsen Yards (restaurant where the Alderman is located within) has a great menu and the reason for the 5 stars for food on this review. We will certainly be back again soon!

Went here for a cocktail for my partners birthday and the space was super cozy and beautiful, the drinks were creative and delicious and the service was amazing. Roger was our bartender and he was attentive, knowledgeable and very friendly. He made the experience so special. Book yourself a table and prepare for a good night! Thank you Roger, give him a raise!

They never told us that the table would be reserved for only an hour and a half. It was my husband's birthday, and he ordered another drink — even then, the server didn’t mention that they would ask us to leave in the next five minutes. Otherwise, we wouldn’t have ordered it.
We were asked to leave shortly after. Fortunately, they have a taco pub outside where we could use the bar space to finish our drinks, but it really watered down the experience.
Also, the drinks were very strong, and I couldn’t taste any of the highlighted flavors.
