I just love this classic Jewish deli. The service is OUTSTANDING they take such good homely care of you. The food is so comforting.

Delicious!

One of my favorite diners in Chicago. This is the closest I've found to a NY style Jewish deli, sandwiches are ample and taste great. Service is consistent.

This was the worst bagel I’ve ever had in my entire life. You would think after paying $17 for a bagel, it would be at least edible… The staff asked me twice if I wanted red onion, tomato and chives and I said yes both times and did not receive any toppings on my bagel. The salmon was disgusting. So thick and chewy. I could not even swallow it. The bagel was not toasted. Not to mention the staff helping me could not understand me speaking English. I will never come back here it was the grossest experience I’ve ever had.

For good food. That's the place to go...

The Bagel is great! First off our waiter was the nicest ever and made our experience very enjoyable, can't say enough about that. The food was prepared fast and was absolutely delicious. With a menu having so much to choose from, we will definitely be going back. Highly recommend!

This place is outstanding. I haven't been here in a while but next time I go I'll make sure to order the reuben sandwich or something. This place has some outstanding food!

The Bagel was always one of my favorite restaurants.
The food is good "Eastern European" Jewish (meaning NOT HEALTH FOOD...but for working peasantry). It's home warming and delicious though.
I have always appreciated that they also do their own deliveries. It's worth it.
Uber and Grub Gub literally steal profits that restaurants and their staff deserve.
But in future, I will ask how much each order costs FIRST. A simple meal for two, which according to their menu, should have cost (an expensive) $50, ended up costing more than $10 more. With a generous tip (I always give), this simple order cost almost $80 !
It's hardly worth it, whether you're rich, poor or in-between.
Lastly, on the recent few times I arrived with a guest, I didn't see one "usual" Jewish employee or employer present.
Welcome to the "New World" !

I don’t usually leave bad reviews, but this place felt like a scam. It left me with a feeling like “I paid how much, for what?”

We ordered the Reuben with no cheese, and a lox bagel.
The “sauerkraut” (coleslaw?) was bland and tasteless, the pastrami was underwhelming and sliced too thin.

The bagel came out completely unassembled and we had to request capers and we were charged a premium for this because it wasn’t the “take out special price”

Honestly, everything felt like it was purchased from a wholesaler and not made in house… including the bagel.

I felt as if I had been transported back in time to a period when you could get away with serving people food like this and they accepted it. Everything about this experience does not hold up to modern standards.

I want my money back. $60 with tax and tip for two sandwiches, and two coffees.

Calm vibes and cool vintage movie posters decorating the interior. The food is classic deli food and The Bagel doesn't disappoint.

If you're nearby in your morning, dropping by to order a breakfast bagel sandwich is a must.

Absolutely incredible and authentic jewish bagel/pastrami restaurant. Coming from a Jewish family, everything was extremely delicious and exactly how my family would like it. Everyone should come here.

I just ordered soup and a bagel on Uber eats. Unfortunately the soups smells so funny that I couldn’t eat it. I also had to pay for a bagel with the soup (which most delis give for free) and the sent the wrong flavor and it was stale. Very disappointed I spent money on it.
