Took 20 minutes to get seated and another 25 minutes until we got our first drinks. Reservation was for 7:30, we got our first drinks at 8:15. Temperature inside was really hot. Was hoping for a great experience but unfortunately that was not the case.

I am a tiki connoisseur, and based on what I’ve seen, The Bamboo Room at Three Dots is the best tiki has to offer. After having a fantastic experience and beautiful drinks here when I last visited Chicago back in 2022, I made a reservation months in advance for my boyfriend and a friend who lives in the city. My expectations and promises were high, and the Bamboo Room blew them out of the water. Our bartender (I believe his name was Taylor but I may be misremembering) was fantastic, recommending and mixing drinks perfect for our tastes, answering numerous questions about the rum flight, and bantering about the Magic cards we’d brought to the table (in case I’m getting his name wrong and his boss would like to give him a well-deserved raise, he is the one who plays commander and recently went to a tiki-Magic-the-Gathering birthday party.) He also made sure we could sit and enjoy ourselves even as closing time approached. I loved the taste and the theatricality of my first drink, The Pretty One, a pineapple and coconut extravaganza, and everything we had after was also delicious and strong. My companions usually tend towards sports bars and breweries, but they raved about our night at The Bamboo Room. This was such a special, comfortable, tasty, and fun place to have a great night catching up, and I only wish we could return more often. It’s my favorite cocktail bar in the country.

We had a gentleman by the name of Elias serve us in the bamboo room and everything was amazing! The quality of food, drink, and service were some of the best we had in the whole city! Definitely will come back to Chicago just to experience this again!
We have been to many tiki bars in various states. We definitely recommend this one as there was plenty of room(we sometimes feel like packed sardines in some of the tiki bars), pleasant wait staff, and tasteful, fun decor. Loved the wall of skulls. Food was decent, which you don't always find in a bar scene. Merch was amazing, but a bit on the high priced side in comparison to other tiki bars we've been to. We were there for a few hours . Loved the seating, felt very retro. Music stood out as an odd choice for the themed bar. Would've enjoyed more alternative tiki-sounding tunes. Drink presentations were, hands-down, some of the best we've ever seen. Every drink was beautiful and delicious.

Honestly had a very interesting experience here. Definitely gives “speakeasy” vibes. My boyfriend and I both work in the industry and have a great appreciation for true, artfully made craft cocktails and we really enjoyed watching the bartender do his thing. I booked this reservation somewhat hastily a few weeks prior and booked for the Bamboo Room having NO idea what I was getting into. The place itself is definitely a dressier establishment— my boyfriend and I felt completely out of place arriving at 9:30p wearing the clothes (think athleisure) we had worn all day whilst touring Chicago. We noticed some glances from the hosts and other restaurant staff and felt uncomfortable and almost left but we had no clue that this is what we were getting into. I had the impression that it was just a quality tiki-style bar with cool decor. But this is definitely more of an “exclusive” kind of place. Regardless, my boyfriend and I jumped right in. We're not rum people by any means, but we decided to stick with our reservation in the Bamboo Room and actually really, really enjoyed our cocktails. We both found drinks that we really liked. I was hoping for a more one-on-one, intimate opportunity to really talk to the bartender (there's only 6-8 seats at the bar in the Bamboo Room) but unfortunately he was busy this night. He did apologize for not interacting with us which we did appreciate. All in all, a very interesting experience. My boyfriend and I kept saying that we felt like we were on a different planet. Wouldn't say we had a perfect experience, but we don't regret our evening there one bit.

My friend and i came for the galentines event and it was incredible! The atmosphere was so nice and the menu and cocktails were so well thought out! Everything was great except we both don’t eat pork so there were a few things we couldn’t enjoy and they didn’t ask for food restrictions, but overall a beautiful evening with good vibes from the employees.

An amazing experience, both food and beverage wise. The bartender was incredibly knowledgable and took the time to customize each cocktail to our specific preferences. Would absolutely recommend it to anyone interested in small plates, great cocktails and fun tiki vibes.

We made a reservation for 4 over a month in advance but upon arrival (8:30pm on a Friday) they could not seat us. Over twenty minutes later they asked a couple to move to the bar and pushed two round high tops together on either side of a jutting out wall in a corner of the bamboo room (don't recommend - small and boring). We were celebrating a birthday so it was disappointing. The drinks were overpriced, but I get that you're paying for the entire concept of the venue. We didn't have food. The high note was that the bartender was lovely and explained the drinks and made a fantastic caipirinha.
