HORRIBLE service. Went on a Sunday late afternoon and it wasn't busy at all. The waiter never even introduced himself. Never came back to check on us after getting our food. We had to go find the him just to get our check. Ended up not leaving a tip because of the awful service...checked my bank a few days later and the server left himself a tip anyways. Will never go back.

I didn't care to stop but the crew I was with had to stop since it was a Hawkeye bar... I started to think.. well maybe if this was in New York City that might be a big deal but Iowa City is like Chicago West right?? Anyway it was the Hawks/Cyclones game day so why not stop for a brew at a fancy pants sports bar! That's just what this is.. Had some brews, used the bathroom, and watched a little College football and the Cubs. It was fun, good to see people repping the Hawks out of state and nothing to out of the ordinary here! Sports, drinks, and wings on the menu!

WARNING! Get the kitchen some salt. The food was blaaand. We came for the Thursday night Bears Packers opening kickoff and sat outside. Initially we were worried about being left without service for long intervals but he waiter was great and regularly checked on us. Buffalo Wings, Cheese Curds, Nashville Chicken with Fries. The wings were a bit over-breaded and soggy, flavor was fine. The texture on the Nashville chicken was AMAZING but there was no flavor at all... on Nashville fried chicken. It seems like they forgot to season as it came out of the fryer. Plainly confusing. Same with the curds, lacked seasoning, but fine. Fries were good. Beer was good, prices were good, service was good, TV's were good, the food left much to be desired.

I have eaten here twice. Both times were underwhelming. The food was decent, even though it was Applebees/Chilis quality. The Gluten free options are limited to chips & guacamole or steak salad on the menu. However a few things could easily be made gluten free if they cared enough to do so, like the artichoke dip & nachos if they used the chips used with the guacamole. The 3 canned ciders I had were all pretty unappetizing, though I guess they don't control that, but they can control the options. Neither time was it busy but the wait staff takes forever to appear. Once they take your order be prepared to be left alone until it's time to pay, which will also take forever. They spend a lot of time gathered in a corner and they all are dressed like they just got out of bed and look and act like it too. Everyone is sluggish & look annoyed to be there. The hostest the first time was very friendly but the second one was awful. I mentioned being there for trivia & she didn't say anything & placed us far away & gave us no trivia sheet or anything. I hate the prize I won was for giftcards to this place because even if it's free I don't really want to come back. The steak salad must have used a baby cow because the "steak" portions were laughable. When we asked for more steak we were told the salad was already made and they can't add more. So was this a frozen meal they thawed out of what?

Great for trivia nights. Staff at the bar was very rude and inattentive. Drink prices are okay. Food is pretty whatever's. Only thing I recommend is the giant pretzel to soak up all that liquor or beer.

Food is pretty awful. Tasteless, not fresh, bland. We ordered guacamole and chips and cheese curds as appetizers. Guac could use some seasoning and salt, even the tortilla chips were tasteless. Cheese curds were undercooked and bland as can be. Ordered a chopped salad with adobo chicken per the waiters recommendation. Yuck, I ate maybe 10 bites because I was hungry....chicken was cold and lettuce was definitely not fresh. Service started good then he seemed to forget about us...party of 10, everyone drinking and ordering food. I come from a service industry background and WOULD have tipped well over 20% if the waiter seemed to give AF. The only positive is that they were able to accommodate us for a patio reservation but the place was dead, so it makes sense. Time for a new menu and new staff....

My boyfriend Dan and I went to the Boundary to grab lunch and a couple drinks this past Sunday. We sat at the bar and met their bartender Donato- he is easily one of the best bartenders and servers I've ever come across in the roughly 10 years I've lived in Chicago. He is personable, friendly and welcoming. He offered us a sample of a beer they had on tap without being asked for it. He also offered us a sample of the beers we were interesting in ordering. He also asked us whether we'd like for him to turn the sound on for the Cubs game, or just stick with the music they were playing (which was good). *THIS* is how you run a business!! I got the bacon cheddar burger with a side salad for lunch. They were both very good. My bf got the Philly Steak sandwich with fries. The Philly was awesome, and the fries were good. The prices are definitely very fair for the area, if not lower than normal. I love the interior of this place, stone/brick/wood with a fireplace and shuffleboard. Lots of TVs. We will definitely be back! Thank you to Donato for your excellent work ethic and kindness and thank you to the person who hired him!

Really good beer selection. They have the best bartenders. Everyone is super friendly. The food is really good. I ordered pretty much a standard burger and fries and really enjoyed it. I didn't see my favorite Mac n cheese bits on the menu which is why I recently went there. Sucks I guess they took them off the menu. Overall, great place. Never too busy.

We showed up on a Sunday evening and sat outside. The restaurant was not very crowded, but for some reason our food and drinks took forever. We even had to go find the server at the end of the meal to take our card/get the check. The food was better than I was expecting for a neighborhood bar, and they did have a pretty good beer selection. I got the chopped salmon salad and the croutons were INSANELY good. The prices were pretty good as well, so it isn't something that's going to break the bank. I would come here again and sit outside (inside seemed quite noisy) on a nice summer evening.

How shall I say... Basic. The food and drinks were all delivered without love. All I need's a little love. Meat cooked to request, a solid pour, communication, what have you. None of that exists here, which doesn't feel right next to the prices. It's a normal, loud, humongous bar next to foot traffic which hires trivia companies to drive up visit times.

Excellent experience! Great food, good service, pretty place. We were warmly met by the host once entered. Got a table outside (cause the weather was nice). Waitress was by our table in a second to recommend the food and take an order. And what a surprise- mr.host brought us two glasses of champagne because I marked on the reservation that it was our anniversary. Dinner arrived fast and was delicious. Again, great experience. They went above and beyond. Very good job guys! Will definitely be back!

Great for drinks - indoor space and outdoor space are well done and comfortable Food has always been tasty Great location for watching a game Better than your typical sportsbar, food and atmosphere work well

The bar, I can't attest to, but the food, yes, it is delicious. I'm a burger guy. This is American food type of place. Not a long menu, just straight to the point. Even had gluten free options for that one girl in the group...
