I’ve been coming to Brewed at least once a week for the past few years, which makes this experience especially disappointing.

Today, I waited about 20 minutes for a coffee (ordered around 1:50 pm, received around 2:10 pm). As a person with a physical disability, long waits are difficult. If staff had simply communicated that there would be a longer-than-usual wait due to the holiday market happening at the same time, I would have had no issue and would have chosen to go elsewhere. No such communication was given.

When I calmly brought this up at pickup, the white male staff member at the counter rolled his eyes, did not apologize, and instead responded with “Isn’t it obvious it’s busy?”, laughed, and spoke to me in an aggressive and dismissive tone. I was speaking normally, never raised my voice, and used no foul language. I was offering what I thought was reasonable, constructive feedback — something that is very common in service environments (I’ve worked as a barista and server myself).

When I asked why he was being aggressive, another staff member (a young woman) returned to the counter. I explained that I didn’t understand why the interaction had escalated, and she also responded dismissively. The entire exchange was uncomfortable and unnecessary.

As a woman of color and a disabled person, the way I was treated made me feel othered and discriminated against. To add to the frustration, my drinks were made incorrectly anyway after the long wait.

Brewed often presents itself as inclusive, but this experience showed that inclusivity seems conditional — extended only if customers don’t question anything and remain agreeable. Offering constructive feedback should not result in eye-rolling, laughter, or being spoken to aggressively.

This was a deeply unpleasant experience, and not one I expected from a place I’ve supported for years.

Very cool place, a horror themed cafe featuring Godzilla, scary killer alien snakes, nostalgic cereal in large bowls, to die for coffee, and some seating.

We came here on a Sunday morning around 10am, there were a few people in line ahead of us an all the main seating was taken but there were still spots to sit in the back. We got the bowl of lucky charms for our kid, he loved them. We all got him a Marz Pink Lemonade. I got a cold brew and a bagel with vegan cream cheese (although I didn’t get the vegan cream cheese and also said nothing so not on them 100%).

Overall a pretty interesting place.

Amazing cafe decor perfect for Halloween. Beware tho they add the espresso over the ice and milk which shocks the espresso and makes it super bitter. I asked for a vanilla latte and they gave me a plain latte. Their donuts and apple cider are great tho! Lots of adults crowd the place in the mornings:/ overall I’d go again for the vibes not the coffee :)

The Skull Island drink had an interesting taste since I don't usually go for drinks with banana syrup, but it was fun to try. Their bagels were very good and perfectly toasted, and the vegan cream cheese wasn't bad either. The staff was super nice and welcoming, and the decorations really make the place stand out. There's also a good amount of seating, and you can even pop into the record store next door through the connecting door, which is a cool touch.

Coffee is great, but their lemonade is literally just Kirkland lemonade they serve which I found hilarious. Wait is super long. Waited 20 minutes for a latte but if you have the time it’s worth it.

Edit: found out the wait is so long because I don’t tip at coffee shops and the last 3 times they just decided not to make my drink lol. Never going here again

Fun place for coffee and journaling. Friendly to kids (hot chocolate + hazelnut syrup = liquid Nutella). We love stopping by when we're in the area.
