Wonderful atmosphere, wonderful service, and delicious food. Their lobster bisque was very good, as was their signature burger. I also really love the decor here! It totally captures that art deco style that Chicago's historic buildings are known for.

I have found my new favorite steakhouse. The ambiance, the service, the food, easy valet parking and just everything exceeded my expectations. I left so satisfied, thinking about when would be my next visit. Thank you Capital Grille for taking very good care
Of me, money well spent!

Have been visiting weekly while in town with family for care at Northwestern. Always wonderful service even when doing takeout while having a wine at the bar, the food is always delish and dependable (which is important when caring for someone going through chemo). They are kind and welcoming. Especially the bartender Bryan and the Operations Manager, Adam. Your kindness and great service is appreciated

Very nice establishment to take your significant other to on a date night or with family to celebrate a special event. Tons of selections for food and drink. Highly recommend if you’re ever in downtown Chicago!

I went to try out this restaurant for their Chicago Restaurant Week. The vibe of the place was calm and classy. Time goes by slowly in the best way. Andrew was our server and he was amazing! He kept me company and recommended a wine that I ended up getting more while I was waiting for my parties to arrive. The appetizers was salads and I got the wedge with bleu cheese and smoked bacon, which I don’t like, but with I was surprisingly enjoyed the salads WITH the cheese I normally don’t like. For our main course, I got a 8-ounce, medium rare Filet Mignon with creamed spinach as my side, which I get it, very basic. The steak was seared to caramelized crust, warm ruby-red at the center. The steak had good flavor and doneness, though the exterior was a little tougher than expected. I did finished my steak and also tried their seared citrus glazed salmon from my friend. From her comments on the salmon, she said that it was “well prepared and flavorful”. She also likes her mash potatoes side. I was disappointed in myself for forgetting to take pictures of the food. So please go and try it out!

Great occasion to get out of the cold. Place was busy as it is Restaurant Week. Service and food perfect. We had a great time.
Cuisine de qualité. Viande et st Jacques parfaites. Bonne cuisson. Service fluide. As usual... j'y viens tous les ans
1st off I would say Capital Grille is a great restaurant as I dine at locations across the country regularly. The Chicago location is not well managed unfortunately. If you are booking a reservation here the time means nothing as the overbook the capacity of the restaurant. My family and I had a 7 pm reservation on Thanksgiving and we sat in a crowded lobby w others for nearly an hour. After much complaining or it would have been longer. Do not go here on holidays or busy nights. This happened to me here two years ago same thing. The practice of this location is to overbook to maximize revenue then your held hostage because on a busy night you are already at there restaurant w a reservation where the time means nothing to the staff and the management. When I asked for the manager when the staff said it would be an hour or so his response was it isn't 7 yet. It was 6:59 pm not 7 pm so technically he was right by 30 seconds or so. i guess in his mind that was an appropriate answer. IThis review is a warning to others who don't want to stand in a overly crowded entry for an hour w a reservation and listen to them scream names for an hour. Steer clear on any weekends or holidays as this is my 2nd experience here w the idea the exact same experience which tells you it's being done purposely. They will also badger you with calls to confirm your reservation but don't think to call when they are an hour or in my case a couple years ago more than an hour behind. It would have been longer if i didn't complain and have a lot of Dining history at Capital Grille.
It was Thanksgiving, so the restaurant was packed. However, the hostesses were efficient, the food was amazing, and the service was phenomenal. Chicagoans spend so much time trying new restaurants that we forget we have tried-and-true winners like The Capital Grille, which never disappoints. I have found my go-to spot for business meetings and social meals.
Always a great experience at CG, never disappointed. A wonderful surprise to be seated in a lovely private cove- spending time with dear friends who we do not see often now that we live in Minneapolis. It allowed special conversation and Walter took impeccable care of everything. Thank You
