They have their select crowd and that’s that. If you’re not Irish or part of that crowd, they’ll make it a point to make you uncomfortable and shoo you away from their establishment . I know I’ll never come back again!

Ma O’Brien’s Irish Pub offers a warm and welcoming atmosphere that perfectly captures the spirit of a classic neighborhood pub. The menu is full of comforting Irish favorites like shepherd’s pie, corned beef and cabbage, and hearty stews, all cooked with care and plenty of flavor. The fish and chips are a standout—crispy, flaky, and served with perfectly seasoned fries. The drink selection is excellent as well, featuring a solid mix of Irish beers, whiskeys, and local craft options that pair nicely with the food.

The ambiance strikes a great balance between lively and laid-back, making it a great spot for both a casual meal or an evening out with friends. Service is friendly and efficient, even when the place gets busy. While it can get a bit noisy during peak hours, that’s part of its charm—it feels like a true community gathering place. Overall, Ma O’Brien’s delivers a genuine pub experience with great food, good drinks, and plenty of character, earning a strong four-star rating.

I visited Ma's last night for the first time. I have to say I felt like home. The bar was so cute and I love all the Irish decor. We had a blast and the margaritas were my favorite part! Thank you for the welcome! We will be back soon!

Great atmosphere to come to and have a pint. Best pint I have found on the northwest side. People are great and the owner and her family are top tier. If traveling or in the area, definitely come to this spot. No food but there’s a good spot next door and all around.
