Went for breakfast today around 9:30 got seated immediately (restaurant was empty)
Ordered coffee we had to ask for flavored creamer it’s not shared normally. A second party walks in again a completely empty restaurant and they seat a party of four at a table one foot away from us. Us two women = Cafe & chesms. Not today we had no conversation space in a completely empty and silent restaurant no music playing you could hear a pin drop. So we order the chiliquiles worst chiliquiles I’ve ever had. They we chips with cold salsa over them. I was disgusted as I did not order nachos. The tortilla soup pure cream zero flavor. Chicken panin was tasty I enjoyed but yup won’t be going back there.

Inside looked beautiful. The food however wasn't the greatest. I got skillet with chorizo. Most of the potatoes were super burnt and inedible which was disappointing. The pancakes were super dry I almost choked. The waitress was supposed to bring syrup right after she set my plate down but didn't see her for a while. Also needed a refill on my drink and waitress took long. Wasn't very attentive. The place looked amazing but definitely wouldn't want to come back due to mediocre food and bad service.

Yesterday I decided to meet my sister for breakfast. She recommended that we try Cracked Egg . We'll let me tell you , DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME . We had the worst service ever . The food was a joke and VERY EXPENSIVE for what they served . Asked for water 7 times at our table and not just from our server but also from the manager and the owner . The place is not worth the time or gas you waste in going there . They are not sure what they want to be , and American breakfast restaurant or a Mexican restaurant. They don't do either well .

I’m from Houston and visit Chicago for business often. I have made sure I visit The Cracked egg every time I go and visit Chicago. The food is amazing and the service is exceptional! I originally would come to Chicago and visit The Cracked egg for breakfast but you can visit this place anytime of day. I highly recommend the Poblano salsa chilaquiles, chicken fried chicken, skirt steak or pancakes. You wont be disappointed.

Ordered breakfast to go first time here. Pancakes no syrup no butter. Meat lovers skillet, more undercooked potatoes than anything else in the meal. Very disappointing. Won't go back. I wish they allow a picture to show you how truly overpriced and sad the meal looked.

Food is absolutely delicious. It has a wonderful vibrant atmosphere and our waitress was excellent. 18% Gratuity is already included on your bill.

Ordered breakfast to go. Pancakes (no butter no syrup) check your order before leaving. Meat lovers skillet was mostly under-cooked sliced potatoes. I won't be going back.

It's good. Big portions. Good service. Lots of space. Parking lot spaces seem kind of close together.
