Went for brunch on a Sunday. Everything was amazing. The energy was good. They greeted us and continued to check on us throughout our time. Food was great i just realized i dont like chorizo but thats my fault not theirs. Drinks were nice and strong. Service and server were amazing. Will def be back!
The chicken fried lobster tail was amazing! Great atmosphere and ask for Allen as your server he was the best.
We had an issue with our order and the management team was very apologetic and corrected the issue expeditiously.
Appetizers were great; Steaks were decent but over priced. Drinks were solid. Service was great.
Wonderful service, beautiful space, excellent drinks and food. Good selection of gluten free options and a waitstaff that understand celiac and gluten allergy versus preference. My only wish is that the price point was a little lower to make it more accessible to come back more often.
A good option. Food was acceptable. We both have dietary issues and granted, it is a challenge but other restaurants have accommodated us just fine. This night we didn't get our appetizer, and one of our entrees wasn't what we asked for. We ordered two complete entrees with the broccolini and grits on the side. They got that part right but made the salmon without the veggies that were supposed to come with it. We were in a rush so we ate what we got, and the food was good enough, but disappointed in the service.
The food and the service was exceptional. The Dawson is a River North gem with the most reasonable wine list in the city!!!! Highly recommend!
Always love the Dawson. Exceptional food, great atmosphere, kind of an elevated neighborhood vibe. Not my first trip and won't be my last either.
Nice outdoor patio with nice vibe, great service, but the fried chicken lobster is NOT a good recommendation!
We went for live music on the patio and half price wine night. The wine choices were lovely and a great value! The vibes and ambiance were great. We felt the appetizers were all pretty expensive for what they were but the flavors were nice. We did not have any entrees so I can't speak to those!

Sat outside on the patio, great service. Shared at the table and highly recommend the pull-apart brioche and any of the pastas. I got my regular - the GTO and the chicken fried lobster. Consistently good and bespoke of The Dawson's menu.
Love this place. Will be coming all the time. Have to try it. Stick duck wings appetizer is a staple.
We loved the Dawson! It's a beautiful setting, both indoors and outdoors. The lighting is low (actual candlelight), and the noise volume is loud. We asked to be moved from an indoor table to an outdoor table and both the noise and light quality was more suitable for our age 40s and 50s crowd. The burgers were delicious, the drinks were stellar and the Brussels sprouts and elote were fantastic. Must go!
One of our favorite spots to go as a group of gals. They never rush us, which is so nice (and I'm sure a tough balance for the restaurant). Our waiter Taylor was fantastic: attentive and easy going. Drinks are strong and stay cold down to the last sip; the mac and cheese is not to be missed. On a 70° night, it's easy to hang on their patio for 4+ hours.
Sat on patio nice setting for the 6 of us. A bit of delay in service BUT they corrected with awareness and an apology + free ice cream for 2 kids. Food was very flavorful with good portions. Server and Manager bot were quite friednly and made special effort acknowledging issue - much appreciated. Would return just for the kindness + the food.
