Upon placing my order the server asked if I had any food allergies or restrictions. I told her absolutely NO onions and also that I did not eat meat. Not only was I served onions in my dish once, but twice. My tongue and mouth were swollen immediately. The manger was aware after the first incident and said " let me check your order"...., only to be given more onions in which I digested for a second time. We were offered apologies and a 50 percent discount. The way in the manner this was handled needs a lot of work. They could kill someone not taking the extra step to handle food allergies properly. 1 time is a mistake, but twice is just careless and inconsiderate. And to still charge for anything after something like this is beyond me. As much as I love the vibes and dates with my husband there, I probably will not return.
The service was a 10/10, Tahlia was my server and she was so sweet! Being that it was Valentine's day, it was like hardly any food left which was very disappointing, as I'd already had my mind kind of set on what I want once we received the menus— I just sorta wish we were informed of what wasn't available upon sitting down and before getting our hopes up on certain items. However, I know this was not Tahlia's fault, and she was still very reassuring with other items on the menu and helping us choose.
The service was great, but both of our steaks were very burnt and over done (we both asked for medium rare, and they came out well done).
Brady gave us an exceptional service. Gave us our dishes in a quick, ordered manner that made dining at Evie feel like a unique experience.
My girlfriend and I decided to make a reservation here for this past valentine's day and we had a nice experience except for my meal. Everything was nice and the service was fantastic, but when I decided to order the quality cut of meat from their menu, I was given the opposite. The steak did not taste very well, pretty bland, and had a potent burnt after-taste. Overall, I found this to be odd as my partner's sushi was absolutely delicious and the clams and muscle where amazing as well.
I am super picky and critical when it comes to dining, but the Evie EXCEEDS my expectations! The food and drinks are amazing. The view is beautiful overlooking Michigan Avenue. The experience made our Valentine's weekend even more incredibly romantic thanks to our experience at the Evie!!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️
The crab cakes and sushi were delicious! We also enjoyed a Thai salad with chicken. The menu is quite diverse and offers many good options. Our server was excellent and very attentive. We sat at a booth which was very comfortable. We will be back!
1st time here., was pretty good. Server was really nice. Burger was good not the best burger I've had. Wife had volcano sushi roll and she loved it.
Absolutely love The Evie! The ambiance is so cozy and the bar is one of the best spots in the house. The bartenders, Jose and Danny, could not have been more welcoming and made wonderful drinks and recommendations!
The food is top notch- the spinach artichoke dip, cornbread, fresh hand cut fries, and pressed sushi are not to be missed! The bread pudding for dessert was the perfect ending as well. Highly recommend for lunch, dinner, or their fantastic happy hour at the bar on weekdays.

We were going to spend the day in the city with our son! I made reservations at The Evie for brunch before we headed to the Chicago Auto show. We had never been to this restaurant and wanted to try a new place. Food was good, my veggie burger was delicious. Our server was so nice and took really good care of us. Wonderful start to our day!! If you are on the Mag mile; do check out the restaurant!

Always consistent and excellent. GREAT to see the smoked salmon back on the menu. Just wish they would get the live music back.
I liked the place but I was in a party of 5 people. They all said my steak frites look small.

Daniel is the best bartender in the city. Lived here for a minute but he keeps us wanting to come back every time.

Great food and extremely accommodating staff! We had a large party and the staff went above and beyond to make our experience one to remember. The food was delicious and came out quickly.
We had our wedding dinner at the The Evie 1/16/26, and I truly cannot say enough good things about the experience. From start to finish, everything was seamless. The planning process was incredibly simple and stress-free — the team made us feel supported every step of the way and handled the details with such care and professionalism.
The food was outstanding. Every course was beautifully prepared and absolutely delicious, and our guests are still talking about how amazing the meal was. Once we arrived, the accommodations and service were effortless. We were able to fully relax and enjoy the evening knowing everything was taken care of.
One of the most memorable moments of the night was as we were leaving for our wedding party — the kitchen, our waitress, and the bar staff gave us a standing ovation. It was such a genuine, unexpected, and emotional gesture that perfectly capped off an already unforgettable evening.
If you’re considering The Evie for a special occasion, I cannot recommend them enough. Incredible food, exceptional service, and a team that truly goes above and beyond. 💛
