I still remember going here- the building is stunning, so pristine! The variety of exhibits and ways to see and learn was mind blowing!!! Cant wait to bring the kiddo back one day!

It's not a bistro. It's a cafeteria. Grab a tray, shuffle in line, and get your $14 hamburger (not including any sides like fries). You're in a museum removed from much of dining options of Chicago. So, you get charged like the captive audience you are. Don't buy the bottled water. For a dollar less you can just buy a fountain drink and use the filtered water on it. There is a hot dog stand outside the museum. So, maybe hit that up instead. Yes, you can leave and re-enter the museum without paying admission twice.

Food is fine but way overpriced. The staff are extremely rude and bad customer service though. They need a retraining bad.

A slice of pizza is $11.50. Let that sink in. It tasted bad. The worst pizza I've ever had.

Severely overpriced for poor food. I paid $11 for a salad that was wilting, and the $12 pizza looked NOTHING like the menu picture. And $5 for a handful of candy?! Major rip-off. Just wait until you leave the museum to eat or squirrel away your own snacks to eat.

This is a cute little Bistro inside of the field museum if you are looking to get a snack. My son got himself a nice caramel latte which he said was very good. We got a soda and two bags of chips. Be prepared it is a bit over pricey but there is a lot of seating and it is clean.

Miserable place where you have no other choice but not to wait for 20 minutes to get your burger, with cold bun. And then you have to wait in another line to get your cold chicken sandwich. $35 for burger, sandwich and fries. No bueno.

Overpriced. Some of the food is fine. The burgers and hot dogs looked good. Not in the mood for either of those, I chose the $11 pizza that looks absolutely nothing like the images they have on display there. It's arguably a generous portion size, but it's flat and barely sauced with its bland sauce. I've had better frozen pizzas for a $1. My kids were happy with their plain hot dogs and my wife didn't mind her sandwich. The fruit cup my youngest picked out? There was a long dark hair in it. Sure, they let us exchange the cup for another one, but it wasn't so appetizing because of the experience. Honestly? It's better to pack a lunch.

The "hidden gem" is Chef Walks First, also known as Chef Jessica Paemonekot, of Ketapanen Kitchen, who on the day we visited offered a superb buffalo panini (the meat having been marinated and slow-cooked in a blueberry barbecue sauce) along with a warming carrot-ginger soup. What a treat! And how lucky we felt to have spotted it among the crowd of burgers and pizzas and so on, none of which looked particularly appealing. We found a quiet corner and felt profoundly grateful.
