Very busy place with average food and poor service. Inattentive service and very slow service. Salads were average and when asking for for dressing, it was ignored. Waiter charged another tables bill and our bill, yes charged twice, and thought it was ok until I confronted him about the extra $235 bill. He just said it was another tables bill and he would reverse it later... Summary: Don't go to this restaurant.

Opentable Diner

Waiter was rude. We were 6 and he gave us two menus. When we asked for another, he was mad. We walked away

The Gage is always a favorite of ours. Delicious food, friendly atmosphere and thoughtful, attentive servers - like Abigail. Close to Orchestra Hall this is usually our stop before or after a concert.

The Gage is a reliably good option in Chicago's performance district ( theater, CSO, Lyric). The food is always good - although seldom breaks the ceiling to great - and the menu is creeping up to the $$$ zone, making the value questionable.

I called as we were walking towards The Gage, no reservations and chancing it. What a delight, they said first come first serve to be seated at the patio. We had a wonderful time, good food, alive with spirits such as Madeira, German Lager and green tea finishing off with blueberry cheesecake and lemon crème brûlée. I’d come again 😃

As always, the Gage delivers an outstanding experience. Was at the Jess Murphy Kai dinner. The ONLY quibble was the noise level in the downstair's private party space was overwhelming.

Four of us enjoyed a delicious brunch. We started with scones served with Kerrygold butter and jam — they were incredible. All of the entrées were fantastic, but the homemade corned beef hash was truly outstanding. Our server, Christopher, was very attentive, and the orange wine was both delicious and reasonably priced.

Food was good but fish just slightly overcooked. I liked the setting and staff were friendly but Overall I felt it was too expensive.

We had a great time at Marco's tonight! The cuisine was excellent, and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. My medium-rare ribeye steak arrived properly cooked, juicy, and flavorful. The staff made sure everything was just fine and was friendly and attentive. A charming little place that I will most certainly visit again when I visit the area!

Birch at the Gage was delicious. We had the Lemon ricotta pancakes, spice cider donuts with salty caramel sauce and the best chicken soup with Irish coffee. We sat outside and it was very comfortable. I am uncomfortable with how hot restaurants are during the winter. Sitting outside with the heaters was perfect in a Sunday morning.

Stopped by for lunch. Two salads were ordered, one steak and one nicoise. Both were nothing short of outstanding. The steak salad may have been one of the best lunches I have ever eaten. Service was also great. Will be back!
