Amazing meal from beginning to end. Very attentive staff. Upscale ambiance but not stuffy. I loved the burrata and brussel sprouts, agnolotti, halibut and chocolate mousse - all super high quality!! I will definitely come back.

Kind of getting tired of The Gage. Fish & Chips comes with a few small pieces of fish and an even smaller handful of fries on the plate. I mean, potatoes are cheap, the least you could do is load them up. I had to get a cup of soup because I was still hungry. So fish & chips, small cup of soup & water = $45 with surcharge, tax and tip. Service was below average this time, too. So overall this is about to drop off the list of lunchtime spots. It's a nice place, wish they could justify the cost.

Fantastic service and attention to special dietary requests. Troy was, is and always has been a super dining assistant.

Food great, bar service outstanding and we enjoyed our server also. I tend to sort of surreptitiously look at the high shelves of the bar and evaluate cleanliness. There are often lots of cobwebs. Not here. The Gage shelves were pristine.

This was a lovely experience with a friend of mine. The fish and chips were delicious and the salad delectable. The wine was crisp and the waitress was so good at anticipating our needs

Food was delicious! Ordered the truffle fries, orchard salad, cheeseburger royale, and side of mushrooms. Amazing service and the restaurant has amazing artwork.

Delicious seasonal dish of brat served on a pretzel roll and apple slaw. My only quibble was the meal was served before the wine. I had to remind my server to bring it. Otherwise, delightful.

The Scotch egg and cheeseburger were both good. Nice place for dinner or a step above casual lunch.

Excellent food and excellent service. We ordered the lobster roll and chicken parmigiana sandwiches. Both were delicious. The vanilla bean crème brûlée was a winner also!

We were seated immediately despite being a little early in a booth we had requested online. Our server, Archie, was delightful — fully knowledgeable about the brunch menu, attentive without being annoying, enjoyable interaction!

Always enjoy The Gage! Fantastic ambience and service, and delectable seasonal food and drinks. It's excellent without being snobby. Every time I've come here, I leave happy, and everyone I've introduced to it has been impressed. Always know I can count on this spot for a great experience.

First time in Chicago eating at the Gage. The food was excellent starting with the meat & cheese platter, entrees of chicken fried lobster and fresh halibut, all cooked to perfection. The service was absolutely amazing, super attentive and efficient! I highly recommend this restaurant while visiting Chicago.

The Gage: A Memorable Culinary Stop in the Heart of Chicago During our recent stay in Chicago, we had the pleasure of dining at **The Gage**, and it turned out to be one of those rare finds that truly delivers on all fronts. Located just across from Millennium Park, the restaurant blends historic charm with a modern, welcoming atmosphere — ideal for a family dinner where everyone feels at ease. From the moment we arrived, the service was smooth, attentive, and genuinely professional. The staff struck that perfect balance: friendly without being overbearing, efficient without rushing us. They handled our dietary needs — including gluten-free options — with confidence and care, which is something I always appreciate when traveling with my family. The food was excellent. Each dish was flavorful, beautifully presented, and thoughtfully composed. We all found something we loved, which isn't always easy when dining with children. My child was happy with their meal (a small victory!), and the adults were equally impressed by the quality and creativity of the menu. The ambiance was another highlight: lively but not loud, spacious yet cozy. It's the kind of place where you can actually enjoy a conversation, feel well taken care of, and savor the moment. I especially appreciated how the staff made us feel welcome without any pretension — just good hospitality, done right. 💬 In short: **The Gage** is a reliable, delicious, and family-friendly spot that I'd gladly return to. A wonderful discovery in downtown Chicago.
