If you like football (soccer) this is the place. I like the food but it’s an English pub.

Great spot to watch some soccer. Fantastic food and craft beer options.

Really enjoyed watching Arsenal fans emotionally break down each time the VAR removed a goal when their team was clearly offside. Great environment to watch Arsenal lose a match they should've won on a Sunday morning. Super friendly staff and good food too

I'm updating my review to 1 star after seeing the owner's misleading reply. I find it disingenuous to deny the recent departure of 2 long-term managers - facts I'm quite familiar with. The claim about having an 18-year veteran chef is particularly ironic given your more recent acquisition of the restaurant. Instead of deflecting criticism, I suggest focusing on addressing your staffing issues and learning to accept feedback gracefully.

**Original Review:** I've been going to The Globe for 7ish years - since before they split into two spots and the Eagle Bar opened next door. Back in the day, this place was awesome. You'd walk in and someone would be right there to greet you, the servers were super friendly, and there was an amazing manager who would always stop by just to check how everything was going. The whole staff worked together to make sure everyone was having a good time.

However, the last ~5 months have been rough. Sure, they spruced the place up a bit - got some new bar stools, finally fixed that wobbly bench on the wall, did some work on the TVs and such. But along with all that came some price hikes, and worse, all our favorite people left - the awesome servers, our go-to bartender, and that great manager (there is one server who’s been there since the beginning and she’s awesome, but I hardly see her anymore).

These days, the service is just... yikes. There's this one newer server who literally moves like they're underwater and completely blanks us out when we try to get their attention. The last straw was about 2 months ago when my friend and I went in on a slow, mostly empty Saturday night. We sat at a table for a solid 20 minutes (not even exaggerating) trying to catch someone's eye while four different employees ignored us. We ended up bailing and going to Mrs. Murphy's & Sons instead. Funny enough, the bartender over there told us they only ever need two people behind the bar, even on their busiest nights, and they manage just fine.

It really bums me out because I live right in the neighborhood and The Globe used to be my spot. They've got some serious issues to work out before I'll go back.

FOOD REVIEW: I'm attaching some photos of the food I've had there in the past. Their Monte Cristo is my go-to order and favorite menu item (but it only comes with orange slices instead of fries AND they increased the price by $2). They have a variety of fries, all of which are amazing (I’ll admit that was one of the positive changes they’ve made - the curly fries are now regularly in stock as of March 2024). All of their wraps are delicious! I’d skip the mac n cheese, it lacks flavor.

Best part of this whole establishment is* Craigan and her stellar beer selection.
*Update: Craigan isn't there anymore and the beer went with her. Sad to see.

Wonderful English breakfast. The drinks and atmosphere are amazing for Arsenal fans. Unfortunately it’s also a Manchester city official bar, didn’t use to be like that. The manager was harsh and short with her customers. Overall wondering atmosphere. P.S. shoutout to the brownie lady!

Hello, this question is for the owner. I live in northern Illinois but originally from Chicago and I wish I still lived in Chicago to be able to visit your pub. 😞 I'm sure it's a great place with great people! 👍🏻 I would like to know if you ever get any Single British men from England visiting your pub? I am definitely interested. 😁
