Amazing vibe on a Sunday night! Beautiful interior and stiff drinks. It's a gem in the heart of Hyde Park

I'm a fan of the Hyde and find all of its rules very, very easy to abide by. There are a LOT of different activities going on in the space which draws divergent crowds, but it can hold more people than you'd think. I like the intimacy. Typically I hate bars but the size and atmosphere of the place is comfortable for me.

On last night visited this place along with a guest to enjoy a band we have been looking for to seeing and attempting to enjoy our evening. After being seated we settled in, ordered drinks and food. Sometime later we were approached by Chris stating he needed to move our seating to accommodate unexpected guests that no one knew about. This action was upsetting as well as appalling. Our tickets were purchased in advanced therefore were expected and already seated. Chris offered us closer seating and a glass of wine for moving us however the seating was further away from the entertainment and our prior seating. At this point I felt insulted and upset so we decided to leave for this was unfair to us. I asked for a refund and was told to stand to the side while Chris accommodated other guests. After being ignored for sometime I left and decided to email you to request my refund. I feel the actions that were displayed were unprofessional and disappointing for this was my first visit at The Hyde.

Great Concept coming up with a speakeasy, there's so much potential for a place like this assuming the owners actually know what they're doing. Unfortunately this place has no clue how to run a business. They lost me on their choice to force Discrimination as part of their business model. Kind of has an African-American flair about it so it's even more ironic that there would be hatred against certain cultures of people who choose not to be minions to one ideological way of thinking - what moron came up with this idea LOL - it's almost too ridiculous to believe it's true but unfortunately it is. One thing I will give them credit for is having terrible and overpriced drinks, which I read that the speakeasies of the 20s during the Prohibition era actually were famous for.

Great ambiance and design, small and intimate space designed to resemble a speakeasy which was perfect for the "Hyde after Dark" burlesque event we'd come for. Great selection of booths and tables, all of which seemed to offer good viewing angles for the show and loved the internal balcony and lighting especially.
