Food was great- especially loved the chili shrimp and carrots. plates are appetizer sized so order more than you think you'll need

Our first time here. Our server, Matias, is a rock star. We told him we had a performance to go to at the nearby Chicago Theater and he was Johnny-on-the-spot. The bar even accommodated my wife’s special cocktail request. Food was delicious! We will most definitely be back.

We make it point to eat at the Kitchen every time we are in Chicago. This 10 year old tradition is still going strong and the experience keeps getting better!

The food was clearly heated under a salamander. It was warm for all of 10 seconds. The serving sizes are so small, we had to order 4 tepid plates. We could not even finish the food. We were excited to try something new but this America tapas restaurant fail. The best part was Eli our server. Friendly, helpful and he could tell we were not happy with the food. Nothing was hot and it all tasted like cafeteria rewarded dishes. I have never left a restaurant without trying to finish something. The appetizer, grilled oysters were tasty (not warm, tepid). Beef short ribs with carrot puree. Tepid, savory. Cast iron chicken, tepid. Dry fries, terrible. Gnocchi were mashed potatoes, no noodle or firm. Crab fried rice dry some flavor. We went the STK down the road to eat afterwards. Also, not happy with open table. They locked me out of making new reservations for 2 hours because I was eating at this crappy place. I had to wait to get a seat even though my bill was already posted on open table. Bad feature OT. Do better.

An incredible experience. The place is beautiful. The food was a 10 out of 10 — I’ve never had ribs so delicious. The service was also a 10, especially our waitress Lily M, who was absolutely lovely and gave us amazing service. When I come back to Chicago, this will be my first stop, and I want to learn how to make those ribs so I can cook them at home in Spain!

Nothing too spectacular, and portions were a bit small for the price. Service was good though.

Everything about this restaurant is fantastic! Food.. (get the carrots) was beyond delicious! The price point was worth every penny! There was 4 of us. All plates are meant to be shared. The wait staff guides you as to weather it'll be too much food or not enough for your needs. We spent $319 before tip and had 6 drinks, 7 shareable plates, 2 coffees and one dessert. All 4 of us, including 2 men walked away satisfied and full. Brandon was our waiter and could not have been nicer or more helpful!!

We hosted a Wedding Rehearsal Dinner in the Root Room. Everyone was an absolute pleasure to work with, the food was fabulous, and our entire weekend was just magical.

Food was not hot. Service was OK. Espresso Martini had no foam on top. Looked like it had been sitting around before being served.

10/10 brunch experience. The food was AMAZING and the view as well. The sweet banana waffle is a must, it was really delicious, soft and crispy. My mocktail was very nice, not very sweet and very refreshing. The coffee (cappuccino) was the only thing we didn’t like because of the flavor and the texture of the foam. But everything else was perfect! The young lady who took care of us was very kind and we definitely will be back! I recommend to make a reservation right when brunch starts to have a chance of seating in front of the river before the place starts to get busy!

I held a 30 person customer dinner (with key corporate leadership and physicians) at The Kitchen on October 6, 2025 in the back private room and it was fantastic! The service, the food, and the accommodations were outstanding! Everyone kept saying how great and tasty the food was. And they weren't wrong! The savory flavor was amazing! For never having been to The Kitchen before and not taste testing the food prior, we took a gamble, and they hit the mark! The Kitchen made us look like heroes for picking such a great restaurant! So I thank them for that!
I look forward to coming back soon!
