THE L STATION IS JUST OK... THE LIGHTING WAS VERY BRIGHT AND THE SERVICE WAS MEDICORE. I HAD THE LAMB CHOPS, WITH CABBAGE AND DIRTY RICE. THE LAMB CHOPS WERE VERY SMALL AND OVER-PRICED, THE CABBAGE WAS TOO SPICY AND SALTY, THE DIRTY RICE WAS FAIR. THE WAITER WAS NOT VERY ACCOMADATING AT ALL. OVERALL, IT WAS JUST OK!!!
Food was delicious, I ordered shrimp and grits with a side of eggs. The amount they give you is well worth the money and is very filling. My date had the banana pudding waffles with chicken. Enjoyed our food just hated sitting my the door. Requested not to be by the door, they didn't complete my request
I was really hoping for a better and higher-quality dining experience at The L Station, but unfortunately my visit was disappointing from start to finish. Several dishes arrived cold, including the macaroni and cheese and the yams. The mac was drenched in cheese, lacked flavor, and had an overwhelming pepper taste. The wings were smaller than the palm of my hand (premature), and the catfish had an unpleasant flavor as if it had been fried in old grease. The dining area itself didn't help the experience. The floors were dusty and the space didn't feel clean. Additionally, after our server dropped off the food, we never received a check-in or follow-up until we asked for the check ourselves. Overall, the food quality felt mediocre, and the positive reviews I read beforehand were misleading. I truly hoped for a much better experience, but this visit missed the mark in several areas.
The menu online advertised for Happy Hour doesn't match the menu in the restaurant for Happy Hour. Neither of the Happy Hour menus shown/given are even used by the restaurant. Water took 20 minutes - The manager had to tell them to give us water. Salmon & Shrimp bites sauce was watery but the cook was right on them. Manager with Blonde dreads didn't listen to understand but solely to respond- cut me off mid sentence. I think he was ready for an argument based on his response. The waiter Malik stated he placed our order for more margaritas then 20 mins later said he didn't. Tried to explain this to the MOD with the blonde but again he cut me off. I've been here before several times this time was the worst and I will not return. $5 margaritas-it is $5frozen margaritas $5 tacos online -$6 tacos which are buy 2 get 1 free in the restaurant - menu states 3 tacos with a free margarita for $15. The prices are not the issue the incorrect information is. Ran out of frozen margaritas and instead offering regular margaritas at the happy hour price the offer was $15 for 1 while still 3 hours remaining of “Happy Hour”
Very overrated. The only decent experience was out server and the Salmon bites. I the Mac and cheese was flavorless and the yams tasted like straight sugar. The music selection was also decent. The drinks were pretty to look at but not tasty.
The L Station is the perfect name. The L is right there. The food was good especially the catfish and yams. Ambiance was okay. It was a bar with tables. The waiter "Trey" was very nice and efficient. I would prefer the meals put on plates, rather than the wooden chopping boards. It's a little pricey for the amount of food we had.
The food felt familiar — like something you crave at home on a random day. Every bite was well-seasoned, flavorful, and truly savored. Comfort done right. The Savorist
Went there yesterday for my friends 50th birthday brunch. Place is small on inside, they sat us in back near kitchen and bathrooms. This really wasn't an issue until the server brought out Mimosas and I looked down and seen something moving. I asked what is that? server said she didn't know and stepped on it and picked it up with a napkin. It was a Roach....we got out coats and left without even ordering. I had heard the food was good and was really looking forward to eating some good food! Needless to say I will never be back! I have never been to a restaurant and seen a roach so hopefully management will see this and try to rectify this or at least turn up the lights in there and that might keep them from coming out of their hiding places!
Went to Chicago last weekend and was in need of good soul food. This place was a 10 out of 10! Every worker there treated us like family, they were helpful, patience, and kind. The food was just as good, I ordered chicken, macaroni, greens, cornbread, and a drink. Everything exceeded my expectations and I want to travel there again just for this spot.

Over priced, the turkey was all fat pieces, no meat. To add a piece of salmon to a salad was $25. The set up is horrible for winter and cold weather, people come in and stand all on the tables where people are sat. You feel the cold air. Extremely disappointed.

Ohmygoodness! This restaurant had the best food that I have had in a very long time. I ordered the mac and cheese, grits and chicken wings. Each item was delicious, perfectly seasoned without having to add anything to it and generous portions. Our server, Davi, was amazing. Explained everything, was attentive without being annoying. Thank you for a wonderful experience! Only negative was that after multiple searches, I could not determine if they took reservations or not (one site said yes, another said they take walk-ins; Open table had everything booked). Upon arrival, we were asked if we had a reservation. We did not, but were seated immediately. So glad we ignored the websites.

We loved our meal. Our server (I forgot to re-ask her name 😥) said she was newish but she did great. She answered all our questions and the service was really good. The food was so tasty! I only regret we were not able to take our doggy bags because we weren't going home right away. Thanks so much!! I will definitely be back. 🤩

I dropped in recently and had a pleasant, soulful evening. The food was full of flavor and comforting, though a few dishes felt a little over-spiced for my taste. Service was friendly and eager — our server was helpful and energetic. The space is cozy and intimate, with soulful décor and a warm, inviting vibe. It does get a bit cramped and noisy when full, but that’s part of the charm.
