Attended the New Years Eve dinner. Cocktails were very good, the bartender was excellent and the space is great. Food was certainly not a dinner and was completely underwhelming. At $581 per couple, this experience was my biggest dining disappointment of 2025.

My partner and I recently visited Chicago and The Office was one of the highlights for us.
Ryan was our server and was super personable, and chatted with us all through the evening.
The drinks were great, and the bartender listened to my picky demands for a drink and came through with an amazing drink đŸ€Ł
Highly recommend the Basque Cheesecake and the Manhattan.
Ask Ryan for Chicago recommendations, you won’t regret it!
Thanks for making this so memorable for us.

(Our one issue was the 20% “gratuity” but not gratuity on the receipt. Management really should change this up. We ended up paying 45% in gratuity because we wanted to make sure Ryan got the tip he deserved plus the mandatory 20%. The way it’s worded on the receipt feels deceptive and probably leaves waiters without a tip often. Make the drinks $5 more, happy to pay that vs this fee).

My wife and I had an absolutely fantastic time at The Office in Chicago. From the moment we sat down, the ambiance was perfect—intimate, sophisticated, and exactly the classic, upscale speakeasy vibe we were looking for. The glowing bar and copper countertop are just beautiful.
The real highlight, however, was our bartender, Gabriel. He was incredibly welcoming, knowledgeable, and a true professional. We felt so well taken care of.
The drinks were second to none. My wife ordered an egg white gin drink, and it was absolutely perfect—beautifully crafted, perfectly balanced, and with a velvety smooth foam. I ordered a vodka drink, and Gabriel made it exactly to my liking, crisp and refreshing.
You can tell when a bartender takes real pride in their craft, and Gabriel is a prime example. Thanks to him and the wonderful atmosphere, this was a 10/10 experience. We will absolutely be back and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a special night out with world-class cocktails!

Loved this place. Great bartenders , very intimate setting . I had them make two drinks based on what I said I liked and they were both delicious . They have keys to get in and out which is a nice touch.

I loved this place. The service is great and the space is hidden downstairs at the Aviary. They serve amazing drinks and side bites. Will have to visit again one day!

This place is such a gem. So much creativity, and care goes into each cocktail. The bartenders are friendly and go into great detail explaining the drinks and process to make them. As a bartender myself, it’s so inspirational going to bars like this. Worth every penny!

Cool concept, I'm not super sure about the infused whiskeys but the ambiance was nice and the drinks were good.

Great cocktail bar! Whenever in Chicago I make it a point to bring anyone who hasn't been to enjoy the amazing presentations provided with your cocktail. Drinks and show!

One of the coolest bar experiences I’ve had in Chicago! The Office (downstairs from The Aviary) feels super exclusive, and the old-school quarter machine ritual that delivers little scrolls with an intro cocktail was such a fun touch. We tried the Oaxacan Old Fashioned, the miso pineapple cocktail, an old Ardbeg, and even a 1936 Yellow Chartreuse – everything was incredible. The truffle grilled cheese and pizza popcorn were perfect bar bites. The hospitality, attention to detail, and overall experience were exceptional. Can’t wait to come back next time I’m in town!

Cool speakeasy recommended by tasting table

so high ratings first for staff and mixology or whatever term is.

here is the thing. it’s a speakeasy so although there was a huge book there was only 1 page of cocktails. more that’s $49 for wildturkey based old fashioned was actually worth it but so few cocktails other than very expensive spirits and also food choices for pricing.

they leaned a bit too hard into the truffle. if you do love truffles. go here. amazing truffle grilled cheese.

also if you are going to charge this much replace the barstools once in awhile. very broken in and uncomfortable.

I do not care for the corporate mba style marketing with $50 reservation fee, mandatory survey with buy ups, the email saying I would miss “the show” if I showed up late which there was an accident causing us to come in last second to a 1/2 full speakeasy and no show.
I mean they already have non refundable $50 so don’t manipulate or create tension

so overall I won’t go again but because of bar and kitchen staff and their talent I am glad I went.
actually unfair as hostess and waitresses were top tier amazing as well as the valets which is not something I would usually notice.

1st time visiting and the atmosphere was phenomenal. Thanks to Anna and Keith we were well taken care of with a great selection of cocktails. We were even made a custom Old Fashioned with a touch of Christmas. Couldn’t have had a better time. Thank you to The Office staff.

Loved The Office, came here as part one of my Aviary experience. Loved the chill swank atmosphere, the service was great and not rushed. I felt like a pretty chill environment hanging in an upscale quality basement. The drinks were good the Black Truffle Explosion was amazing and the Truffles popcorn was addicting. Only had a couple of drinks and small bites then moved on to the Aviary. I really loved The Aviary tasting menu experience but I would love to come back and just hangout in The Office. (I regret I didn't take any pictures of The Office) Next time I will be more vigilant... Lol â˜ș

Went to this spot for a holiday party. Exquisite, private, and cozy with awesome one-of-a-kind small bites & delicious drinks. You'll never find anything like this anywhere else in the city.
