Stopped by The Original Maxwell Street for a quick lunch and was impressed. Grabbed a Maxwell Street Polish with fries—sausage had that perfect snap, grilled onions added a nice touch, and the fries were crispy. Service was quick, and the staff was friendly. It's a no-frills spot with a lot of history and flavor. Definitely a go-to for a solid, affordable meal in the area.

Let’s start by noting that the area is really bad. It’s a very poor neighborhood with just a sense of depression surrounding it. However, this place is so good that u should just brave a train ride to Pulaski, walk over (don’t talk to anyone and ignore the people sleeping on the street) to the ordering window, order the food, eat it there or on the train ride home. These guys would be worth 3 Michelin stars, worth the detour. Also the portions are super generous and the price is very cheap.

The Original Maxwell Street is a great spot for classic Chicago-style fast food. The prices are affordable, making it an excellent option for a quick bite any time of day or night, especially since they’re open 24 hours. The menu offers hearty portions and the flavors are bold, giving you that authentic street food experience.

The service is quick, which is perfect for those on the go, and they also offer takeout and delivery options for convenience. The atmosphere is simple and straightforward, focusing on good food rather than fancy décor. Highly recommended if you’re craving a satisfying meal at a reasonable price!

Maxwell is another Chicago staple. I always go for the polish, which is a true polish unlike a lot of places. It's a popular spot. Order at window, no seating. There are only so many parking spots in the lot, but you can park on the side of Independence Blvd.

I like their chicken tacos 🌮 but their service is something concerning. They don't concentrate on orders from their customers. I paid for 4 chicken tacos and received 3 and was disappointed when I got home. Yet, I had to get ready to leave for work, even realizing I had to take a loss for paying for a $4 taco, SMH

This is the spot to come to if you're looking for authentic Chicago polish, or sandwich. Every time I come to the city and head home, this is the last stop to complete a good night out on the town.
