My friend and I stopped by for a drink after work. We both got sangria and then ended up getting the prosciutto & mozzarella flatbread as well. Everything was SO SO SO good! Plus, the service was great.

Cute basement bar with happy hour. They make perfect filthy vodka martinis! Food yummy & got to try the Absinthe experience. Only comment was the music didn't fit the bar playing pop music.

The space itself is beautiful—stylish décor, thoughtfully designed, and very inviting with a cozy atmosphere. While the oysters were fresh, they felt somewhat overpriced for East Coast varieties. Service was acceptable, though not exceptional; it appeared to be a particularly busy day, and our server seemed to be juggling both serving and hosting duties, which likely impacted attentiveness.

Happy hour East oyster 2$/ each was so small and not fresh , not enough cold. I thought it’s crushed ice under the Oysters but it was just decoration.

Made reservations after a celebration and were greeted warmly (which was wonderful since we were coming in from below zero temperatures) and given a cozy table in the corner. Our waiter, Gio, was attentive and our water glass never dipped below half. We also were cared for by Luigi, the bar manager. The cocktails were top notch (we tried several!) and we enjoyed the crisp prosciutto on our flatbread. Save room for dessert - the phyllo cake was extraordinary. We loved the whole atmosphere and will be back when in Chicago!

Cozy spot with solid drinks. Good spot for a date or after work drink. The food was okay, good but not great.
Tried the PB&J bites, lamb meatballs, and the dip. Nothing was objectionable but also no standouts.

Jorge, Luigi and the team deliver an incredible experience.. my craft cocktail (bitters and bourbon) was great. However, the real differentiator is the incredible service the entire team delivers. It is heartfelt and noticeable. The space is incredibly cool.. and the atmosphere (my daughters say”vibe” ) is truly unique.. thank you Press Room crew

Perfect place to go in the cold winter to come. Warm and welcoming interior with a neighborhood feeling. The cocktails where interesting with lots of unique ingredients. Had a slice of orange cake which was really good brought back memories of something my grandma would make. Definitely will go again!

Great staff and amazing cocktails! We went to another bar afterwards, and it felt like those drinks were one dimensional after how great the cocktails were here! Highly recommend. The mussels were delicious!

All around a nice spot to have a cocktail or wine and a bite or two. The vibe isn’t quite speakeasy but still cozy and inviting. The cocktails were great and I would recommend asking what the special is if you’re feeling adventurous. Some of the food was hit or miss. What I would order again - the mussels and the charcuterie. What I would pass next time- the deviled eggs and the flatbread. They were just ok. But do splurge on dessert- both cakes were very tasty 😋

The staff here are so knowledgeable, and the drinks delicious. Highly recommend both the cocktails they have on their menu, but also asking them to create something special for you.

We had fun. Lots of different drinks and snacks.
Amazing little spot. Great drinks and even better food. It has a cool, hole-in-the-wall vibe that reminded me of New York.

I’m writing this the morning after because I can’t stop thinking about dinner at The Press Room in West Loop.
The drinks were absolutely delicious, and the secret cocktail of the day was explained so eloquently it made me feel like I was in on something exclusive.
But the star was the food. The skirt steak came out perfectly charred on the outside, juicy and tender inside, with a bright, herby chimichurri that lit it up with flavor. The corn salad was colorful and refreshing, with sweet kernels, crunchy greens, and just the right touch of zest. I asked for a spicy aioli on the side and the kitchen nailed it... creamy, bold, and fiery enough to take every bite up a level.
Just look at the plate: vibrant greens, golden corn, glistening steak, and that rich sauce pooling underneath. It’s the kind of dish you want to stare at before diving in, and then you can’t put your fork down once you start.
The Press Room is elegant without being stuffy, and the service is sharp, thoughtful, and on point. Easily one of the best meals I’ve had in Chicago this year.
