Wow. The most incredible squid ink chitarra!! Such a great atmosphere with super friendly staff. Highly recommend. Our plates were empty without a morsel left. Also recommend the Penicillin mixed drink. Definitely put this on your Chicago bingo card.

Purple Pig is our go to in Chicago for always a great flavorful meal. We love the sharing plates so everyone can talk about the dishes together. We always recommend this restaurant to people coming into the city. We absolutely love it HOWEVER please bring back the silky mashed potatoes with the pork shoulder, it used to be our favorite dish but it’s just not the same with the little grains served with it now. Still Love everything else!

I used to come to Purple Pig at their old location and the food was great - small plates, shareable, delicious. Recently went to the new location and was astonished by >$25 shareable plates with flavors that were just strange. We had baked goat cheese that had breaded fried goat cheese in a sauce that was bland, daughter ordered kids pasta with marinara that was so acidic it she barely touched it (I concurred with her) other dishes that were, unfortunately, not memorable. For the price of the meal, we all left underwhelmed. the one shiny highlight - service was great, food was hot and quick.

The Purple Pig is the kind of place you dream about when you think of Chicago dining.
From the moment you walk in, the energy is warm, bustling, and effortlessly inviting — but it’s the food that completely steals the show. Every dish is bold, comforting, and thoughtfully executed, with flavors that feel both elevated and soulful.
The menu is meant for sharing, which makes the experience even better. Each plate arrives beautifully presented and packed with flavor — rich, savory, perfectly balanced, and impossible not to talk about after every bite. You can truly taste the care and creativity behind each dish.
Pair that with an impressive cocktail and wine list, an energetic yet cozy atmosphere, and attentive service, and you get a dining experience that feels special without being pretentious.
Whether you’re visiting for a date night, celebrating with friends, or simply craving incredible food in the heart of the city, The Purple Pig absolutely lives up to the hype. One of those Chicago spots you’ll think about long after the meal is over — and immediately plan your next visit back.

SO GOOD. Everything we ate was amazing (see pics). Flavorful, tender pork, went well with the mushroom three ways dish. Went in on a busy Saturday night and the place was packed. Highly recommend getting a reservation or else you might not get a table. Def going back.

We ordered for the 7 of us the pork shanks, pigs ears, whipped feta, beats, jamon iberico platter and scallops. We ordered a bottle of a red blend from the Rioja region that was outstanding. Fabulous evening for celebrating my 60th 🎂
Highly recommend!!

Had a great dinner here. The hummus is the best I’ve ever had. I preferred the old location. Had more character.
