It is great to have this Chicago classic back! The food was as good as always and the attention we got from the bartender, waiter, and maitre d' was amazing. We started with the calamari and the burrata then had the cavatelli with arabiata sauce and the carbonara and finished with canolli for desert. Dinner felt relaxed, and the food was delicious!
Seated as soon as we arrived. Food was good, service was good, but we felt rushed the entire time we were there. Seemed that we couldn't finish a course without being asked if we wanted it boxed.... Not the best experirnce.
It's been at least 15 years since I had been to the original Rosebud. This trip I learned they had reopened Taylor for dinner and I jumped at the opportunity. The bread and cheese are just as good as they always were. Service was great. Ambiance was classic. I had the chicken saltimboca and my girlfriend had veal Milanese. Everything was cooked perfectly. She wished that the parm that was shredded on her Milanese was available to eat with bread, as she said it was even better than the table parm. It was a server training issue but ... never remove the oil when people still have bread! I used the red sauce to get some parm on my bread but ... leave it there for us. The oil itself seemed a little lighter than I remembered ... but it was still outstanding. Overall - the restaurant is amazing and has maintained.
We were there at Italian Fest. It was so much fun. The waiters were attentive and the food was awesome.
Rosebud came highly recommended, and we were very excited to have the opportunity to dine there. However, there was a street festival that evening, and no one from the restaurant contacted us prior to arrival to let us know that our reservation would not be as expected. We booked a nice dinner indoors, only to find NO INDOOR DINING that night. Instead, it was part of the street festival, outside, with paper tablecloths. Additionally, because of the event, the menu was cut in half, so many dishes we looked forward to having were unavailable. Had we not spent $40 on an Uber to get there, we would have cancelled. The front of house (or street) staff were not very professional in handling the change, either. Our waiter was wonderful though! And the food was decent, but it felt rushed/pre-prepared in order to accommodate the street festival attendees. Would have definitely chosen another Rosebud location had we been given a proper courtesy call to let us know about the changes. Definitely overpriced for the experience given that night.
The Rosebud in Little Italy, Chicago never disappoints. It's like being in Italy at a quaint family owned restaurant! My daughter and her husband live in the neighborhood. We are from Kansas City. Every time we come visit, we insist on a reservation at The Rosebud. Everything from the quaint atmosphere, outstanding service to the authentic Italian food is over the top. I highly recommend The Rosebud. You will not be disappointed! Make sure to try the homemade pasta!!!
Outstanding food, outstanding service, and one of the best dining experiences due to the wonderful staff that took care of me and my wife like we were family! Our server Zoe was wonderful! Seriously can't recommend Rosebud on Taylor enough! We can't wait to return! Cheers!
Having gone to undergrad at UIC with my first apartment being in the Little Italy neighborhood, the last time I ate here was in the mid-1990s. Was very excited to take my co-workers here for dinner and Rosebud did not disappoint! The restaurant itself is a gem - so filled with personality. The staff was all incredibly gracious and kind and the food was wonderful! Glad to see it's still going strong.
Really liked the vibe. Old school Italian restaurant, proffessional service and outstanding food.
We were celebrating our daughter's graduation from nursing school and earning her RN degree. We had a great time. The food was great as usual and our server Zoey was fabulous!! We also were very excited to see that the restaurant was open again to the general public. We love this restaurant!

I booked the reservation for my husbands birthday and we also wanted to see the restaurant since he had reopened. We love the old neighborhood feel and the bar and restaurant definitely share the same ambiance. I know some people might think it is too dark but we liked it. We got there early so we could have a cocktail at the bar. Gabby the bartender was awesome and very friendly. Made a nice suggestion for a Hugo Spritz after my Aperol Spritz. I think I'll have a Hugo again! The staff from the moment we checked in to the time we left including the Valet attendant were awesome. Very attentive. We probably ordered more than normal because of the birthday celebration but all great! From the Shrimp cocktail (huge shrimp), Calamari, Orecchiette w/Sausage and Broccolini, Tortellini Carbonara, Side of Ravioli Milanese plus ending with desserts of Gelato, Cannoli and a piece of Chocolate cake that could serve 4 people. All dishes were so good and obviously we had to pack most to go home! Our server Branko was very attentive as were all who helped keep our table neat. I did not get the managers name but he came over several times to check on us. Needless to say I made our next reservation before we left! It was also nice to have Valet parking!
Amazing!!! So glad to see this spot is open again! The service was incredible. Shout out to Tony! Food was outstanding. We will definitely be back!
