Cute little Cafe. Was looking for a place that had a gluten free menu while visiting. Server was friendly and knowledgeable and reassured me that they had a seperate prep area and cooked gluten free food on a seperate grill. I ordered the steak sandwich and fruit cup. Little pricey for a sandwich that was more veggie than meat. Fruit had a funny taste to it, maybe because it was out of season. Husband ordered regular steak sandwich as well, it was in a pita. He liked it. Daughter ordered chicken club and thought it was very good. They also gave gluten free dessert. I did not indulge in dessert. Overall, not a bad place to eat. If in Chicago again I would definitely stop in. I have Celiac and did not get sick from eating here, so that is a bonus.Dietary restrictions: Gluten free menu.Parking: Paid street parking.Kid-friendliness: My daughter was able to find something to eat.

This place is over priced for what you get. A $15 steak taco meal came with only 3- $5 tacos. The tacos barely had food in them. At least if you're not serving fries with the tacos, you could fill them up. But I’m noticing when certain places don't want a certain demographic of people to patronize; they purposely offer horrible service in the hope of you not returning. No problem!!! Message received.

This is my favorite go to spot especially with kids. We can have top notch sushi, great cocktails, and the kids love the pizza. The specials are unique and always better than expected. Service is fast and friendly and they are great with our kids.Vegetarian options: Lots of choicesKid-friendliness: Lots of great options for kidsWheelchair accessibility: Plenty of space

Not a bad spot. I believe it’s more of an American fusion location. I came for sushi and it was not what I was expecting, which was somthing more authentic. The quality was great, but not quite there. However, if you are looking to introduce yourself or kids to sushi it may be the spot. They have sandwiches, jambalaya, pasta, and salads. They are great, just not what I expected.

The Sit Down is my favorite Hyde Park eatery. I come for the vibes and food. It's calm and peace inducing. It's also delicious! The staff matches the vibes. This place is perfect.

Spicy Shrimp sushi was good. My Mother liked the spicy tuna and shrimp sushi. Sushi is her favorite, and it made her night. Thank you all.

The service was not great. And the food was good. But it just wasn't giving the vibe that they wanted service.

Convenient and flavorful, with a laid-back ambiance. However, the service, especially from one server, is consistently slow and unfriendly. During my latest visit, she dropped my miso soup with her thumb in it, and I noticed her dirty nails. Additionally, there was a bug in my water. Unfortunately, I won't be returning.
This place is subpar at best. Not realizing till I physically read menu that they serve Italian too. It's suspect. The miso tasted stale and the maki fishy. Won't be back.

Good food, quick service. Plain looking place with a very eclectic menu but the sushi was good. Server could have been the least bit friendly but otherwise a nice lunch.

The service was excellent! Our waitress was friendly, attentive, and very knowledgeable about the menu. The chicken rice soup was really good, but the sushi was not so good. I ordered three different rolls and could only eat a piece from each. The restaurant merges cuisine from the East and West. Cute concept but poor delivery. They should probably stick with the west only.

Walking in, I had a very large party and to my surprise, we were seated so very quickly. The ambiance of the restaurant, although it could be better decor wise, was very cute and very clean. The staff were also very nice and worked very quickly. Our food, despite all of us being there, came out tremendously fast. The wide variety of options was particularly helpful since my party had some picky eaters. The price of the restaurant is also very affordable (coming from a college student)! Overall, the Sit Down is very casual and a great place to grab lunch.
