Service was standard, nothing great. We had the skirt steak and butcher steak and were lacking flavor. The garlic mashed potatoes and mushrooms were definitely better in comparison.

We had multiple items. Everything was 4 out 5 stars except for the steak. It seems over cooked with Creosote flavor. I traded it for a burger, the burger was good. The drinks were superb. The dessert was great. Service was fine. This was NYE with prix fixed, but essentially it was steakhouse prices in the end.

We always come here in NYE for our first date anniversary as we went to the Smith for our first date. Always a great time, great food, an great service. It's our favorite tradition as couple (going on 5 years, 1 year married)!
The crispy chicken paillard was delicious! I loved the lemon flavor and the mashed potatoes were amazing as well.

The food is always very good. The location is in the heart of River North. The service was ok... we sat with dirty plates for the last half of our time there. We'll go back because the food is always so good.

We always enjoy dinner at The Smith. The service is excellent. I love that they offer complimentary bottles of still and sparking water. Such a nice touch. We started with the oyster sampler and it was so good! They make their own Tabasco sauce! We split a salad and it was such a generous size we could barely finish it. And it was delicious, with kale, quinoa, toasted almonds, etc. We arrived early so they gave us the lunch and dinner menus. I was able to order the chicken sandwich even though we had crossed over into the dinner menu. My husband had pasta, the rigatoni with vodka sauce and added chicken. He loved it!

Overall, a great experience. The East Coast oysters were super fresh, and the house-made Tabasco was a perfect pairing if you enjoy a little heat. We ordered the mussels (entrée) as an appetizer. They came out hot, though slightly overcooked. The burger, however, was a standout, and the fries were just as good. Do get the ice cream sundae, you won't regret it.
