One of the most unprofessional places I’ve ever been to. None of the employees seemed to care about customer service, not clean at all, no health precautions taken by employees at all. Careless and incapable.

The food was decent but very unprofessional. Need professional waiters in uniform without touching face, nose. Clothes and slang. The place was empty on Saturday night and the service syle could potentially be the reason. We need more businesses, especially in restaurants to be totally professional ,.look up to part, clean hand, and fluently speak and conduct business in it's proper manner. Uniforms win and structure.Maybe take out orders experience is different.. Dinning staff needs training because of all the germs and when dinning is offered consumers expect uniforms and hands that has not touched head, street clothing or any body parts. I hope this can help the owner change and improve the service experience.

The food was great, I give them a score of 4 only because dinner is served with with plastic utensils. However, the food is absolutely delicious!

10/16/22, Compared to when they first opened the take out portions and presentation and quality of the food is completely different. The grilled chix wings were so small today they were like party wings but I was charged as if they were reg chix wings, the corn bread was black at the bottom (fine if that is how you like yours, I don't) and the grilled salmon was sliced so thin for $20 that there should have been 2 pieces...very disappointing considering I spent $100+ for 4 dinners. The other pics of salmon on your site do not resemble anything close to what I received today. The Lamb Chops and Short Ribs were as they should have been. The young man cleaning the tables was attentive and held both doors as my hands were full with 2 bags. I'm not so sure I'll be returning anytime soon. I live in the suburbs, drove to HP just for your food today.

Comfort food is worth waiting for. We arrived to be first in line with other first time groups trying the food for the first time.It was a bit of a wait since they hadn't opened until 1pm.I appreciate how they opened up for us after seeing us lined up at the door. The orders to go seemed to move faster than the dining in.Kid-friendliness: My grand daughter just loved her fried chicken and waffles, green beans, Mac and cheese, and yams.Wheelchair accessibility: Space in the dining spacious enough to accommodate wheel chairs.

Meal was great. Kool Aid was sugared well. My only complaint, No A/C in the place. It was hot as hell. But the food took my mind off of it.

The food is good. J*** chicken is more of a sauce and rub, the fried chicken was delicious. Mac n cheese was tasty and cheesy. The only downfall is they have no air conditioning or fans. So on a hot day, waiting 45 minutes for fresh food means that you will have sweated out the calories your about to put in. SOUL SHACK GET A/C AND THINGS WILL BE PERFECT. P.S. the bathroom was clean, they ran out of soap, but it was clean.

This place is not what it use to be. I've eaten here many times over the years. Today, I bought a jerked Cornish hen with two sides and the food was terrible. I will not be returning under any circumstance.

I went in here on 08/01/2022 talking about my non-profit organization. My organization is for mother's who lost children and children who lost mothers to the street violence in Chicago. I asked to speak to the owner seeing this is a BLACK OWNED suppose to be successful establishment. The workers there are rude and there is no way I will ever spend a dime in this place. I was told seriously lady we don't care about what you are talking about and we don't care who dead or died. I asked you don't want to be a role model for our youth? The other guy who was sitting their eating was stating my organization is a scam and they are already making a difference and is role models, they are black owned but care less to support other blacks. They said R.I.P to the homies. I said do your homies have children that was left behind with no mother or father? They stated maybe but that's on them, I really feel they need to relocate or stay there and we stop supporting. They was playing music with sun glasses on. I feel sorry for the owners because the people you leave is going to run you straight out of business.

Let me tell you all! I was so pumped to go here! Went here yesterday for the first time and what a waste of time and drive! The TikTok and Instagram videos are just that... a front! Lbvs. Should've went with my first instinct and turned around when we first walked in the door. I was greeted by a gentleman stating, "Pick up or to go orders only. Dine in closed. No appetizers. We ran out of fried chicken. Only sides left are Mac and cheese, greens and corn bread." No, "hey, how are you? Have you been here before?". Might I add the place is very, very small. About 10 tables located on a L shape angle then there's the front register and behind is the kitchen. The other gentleman at the register was nice. I placed an order of J*** Chicken, Mac and cheese and corn bread. Took about 20 mins. Prices are reasonable. The food didn't look appealing at all. The j*** chicken threw me off because it had a lot of parsley flakes on it. Why? I'm not quite sure, but they over did it with the parsley. The j*** chicken was slightly cold, didn't seem like it just came out the oven. Didn't have a way to warm it up. The mac and cheese was too spicy for me. And I've never had spicy Mac and cheese but it was warm! There was entirely too much PEPPER in the Mac and cheese. Was also parsley flakes on it as well. May I remind you the j*** chicken was already spicy flavor wise. The cornbread was warm but dry. I couldn't even eat it anymore after a few bites I was sooo over it. The picture shows after I took a few bites of everything and to the garbage it went.
