The DJ on the night on September 20/morning of September 21 sucks! His music selection is outdated and singular (one genre). He’s also rude.
My spouse and I enjoyed dinner here before attending a show at Second City. It's a large space with indoor and outdoor seating. We had early reservations (5:30) and accidentally arrived earlier still due to less traffic than we expected on Friday rush hour, but they got us right in.
Since it was happy hour, we took advantage! Cocktails were excellent, as were the lobster deviled eggs. My spouse ordered the vegan torta, which he said was excellent. I had the cauliflower steak, which was delicious -- especially the puree it was plated on (honestly, I wish there had been more of it!).
The place was completely full and quite loud when we left. Service had, of course, slowed down as it got busier. It took us a while to get our check -- we actually thought our waitress had forgotten, but she was just busy.
All in all, it was a nice place, but I'd avoid it after 6 on Friday nights if you have a schedule to keep.

I love the vig so much!! It’s my go to spot and I always bring my friends here that visit Chicago. A1 food, fire flames drinks, happy hour is to die for, and let’s not forget the amazing service and servers!! <3

I like this place, but I got food poisoned there on Friday night. I traveled in for the weekend and this wrecked my plans. Whoever is handling their old fashioned ice/garnish needs training.
Enjoyed this meal. The parmesan fries and kalamari were very good. Love me a good deviled egg, but the lobster got lost in it. The seared tuna was cooked well. Great selection of beer and liquor. The ambience is a little confusing, not sure if the place is trying to be a bar, a club, or a restaurant. But all in all, very good

Nice restaurant in a busy area on the north side of Chicago. Food and service was good. Atmosphere was loud inside the restaurant, as one would expect in a busy city restaurant.

I work around the area & live in west loop. Great experience. Will return.
Went to the VIG on a recent Saturday nite for a surprise birthday party/dinner. From the moment we arrived we were treated like guests which is always a nice feeling. This place is LOUD…..,the service was terrific and wasn’t expecting much food wise but shocked how good the food was. We shared blistered shishito peppers and salmon husky puppies which came with an aioli dipping sauce. Ordered the seared ahi tuna which was served on an avocado with nice veggies.
My partner ordered a steak sandwich which was a very generous portion. Had tickets for an early second city show and the staff had us out the door right on time to walk over……
