Went to the VIG on a recent Saturday nite for a surprise birthday party/dinner. From the moment we arrived we were treated like guests which is always a nice feeling. This place is LOUD…..,the service was terrific and wasn’t expecting much food wise but shocked how good the food was. We shared blistered shishito peppers and salmon husky puppies which came with an aioli dipping sauce. Ordered the seared ahi tuna which was served on an avocado with nice veggies. My partner ordered a steak sandwich which was a very generous portion. Had tickets for an early second city show and the staff had us out the door right on time to walk over……
Fabulous spot to eat in Old Town! The Vig burger lives up to the hype. Tasty and satisfying. The Homer Greek and Honey Daniels salads are delicious. The Greek salad has a lot of dressing but I liked it a lot. The chimichurri steak is ok. My husband enjoyed his chicken Parmesan sandwich a lot. Nate is a friendly bartender who provided good conversation and excellent service. The staff we encounter were friendly and kind. Can’t say anything about parking cuz we walked here. The prices are reasonable w/ a chill ambiance for friends or date night. I highly recommend the Vig for dinner. I would try it for lunch and happy hour as well.

Disappointed overall. The burger bun was falling apart, soaked in juice, and the avocado toast was a thin paste drowned in sauce, overshadowed by oversized cucumber and tomato slices.
The music was way too loud for the time of day, giving me a headache.
To make it worse, my friend slipped and fell near the restroom, and a female server saw but didn’t offer any help or check if she was okay—bizarre. Instead, a patron who seemed to know the staff stepped in and asked if she was alright. On top of that, they add a 3% service fee.
Wouldn’t recommend.
