Good food but not cheap, place somewhat dirty. Shocker was Tsingtao for 9 dollars. Rude staff but that was not a problem.
A restaurant that has good food, a place to sit, and a table to eat upon. Nothing fancy, no shiny decor or attractive wait staff. Come here for good food at reasonable prices, leave full and satisfied.
I am always happy to come here and bring my friends here as this place has the touch and feel of authentic down to earth Cantonese cooking.

Three Happiness has been one of my top 3 favorite restaurants for the past 16years. However, today was my last visit there as I will not support a business that treats customers and employees very unprofessional. When my family and I first arrived, there was a black man that appeared to be homeless standing by the register looking at their menu. He sat at a table near the entrance as he waited for his food. Once his food came out, it was bagged up “to-go” and he was rudely asked to leave because he only ordered “1 small order of rice.” This man had the right to sit down and eat there like everyone else. Shortly after, a family sitting at a table next to us paid their tab and gave the Hispanic server a $20 tip. As soon as the cashier saw that, he went up to the worker & took the tip away. When my family and I finished eating, we paid our tab and tipped the Hispanic worker. Since we didn’t add a tip to our bill, the cashier rudely asked us about the tip- if we gave the Hispanic worker a tip and how much. The cashier said the tips are split as a team. A tip is not mandatory, it’s given as appreciation for a well done service. The Hispanic worker served us, was very attentive, & cleaned our table therefore he deserved the tips- not the whole staff splitting his hard earned tips.
Majority of the food you get from this place is covered in the same type of gravy. This is because the meat is so rancid it needs to be covered up with something or they wouldn't be able to sell it. Please avoid this place at all cost, you are paying for rotten food. You can literally smell it as you enter the restaurant. Eggrolls filled with rotten meat that's supposedly chicken but it dosent smell or taste like it.

Three Happiness Restaurant is a hidden gem in Chinatown, offering some of the best Chinese food around. The dishes are flavorful, authentic, and consistently delicious, making it a go-to spot for anyone craving quality Chinese cuisine. While the ambiance and service might not be top-tier, the food more than makes up for it. If you’re there for the food, you won’t be disappointed!

I used to love going to this place. But now they write the tip amount on your bill. When I asked why they do that, a worker said, "because of how many people are in your party." I told her that is not how tips work.
One time we went, after giving our food, all they did was fill our water.
I was so disappointed when I saw the tip amount. We haven't been back since.
We had just left a concert during the Ravinia Festival and were hungry. We ordered $60 worth of food, and it was all nasty. They gave me a fork with dry rice stuck to it. The food we ordered all had heavy gravy. I do not recommend going to this place.

Three Happiness is one of my go-to restaurants for Chinese/Cantonese style food. Not the fanciest, but the food is good. Great for carryout and dine in nearby courtyard, park, or place of your choosing if you want atmosphere!
