Hassle free bagels. Ordered online and was available when I came to pick it up. No whitefish salad so I had the crispy potatoes and chorizo on a toasted everything. They had an egg, cheese and sausage on a Chicago style. While mine was good, it didn't work that well together. The potatoes and chorizo deserve to be on their own, and my bagel needed a better compliment of toppings. It was still crispy on the outside and slightly chewy on the inside. No salt but fennel seeds in their mix. The Chicago bagel was better imo. It had a better overall texture and flavor. Service style egg and sausage patties were disappointing. They had plenty of seating in their brightly lit dining area but I grabbed my order togo.

I stopped by the shop today and had a great overall experience. The front staff was polite, welcoming, and engaging. My only suggestion would be for the kitchen staff to clean the toaster between items or consider having designated toasters for sweet versus savory bagels. I ordered a cinnamon sweet bagel, but it picked up seeds and onion flavor from other items toasted before it. Other than that, the bagels were very tasty, and I will definitely be back!

Looking for a classic bagel spot (and one close by), we turned to Tilly’s to satisfy that craving and they did not disappoint. We got there right at opening and were first in line; by the time they opened there were about 5-6 other people waiting behind. As with any downtown spot be aware of parking being spotty but this is well worth a trip. We were let inside the exact minute the store opened and the inside was sleek and clean. We ordered a plain bagel with plain cream cheese and a caccio e pepe bagel with carmelized onion cream cheese and a coffee. Ordering was smooth and the staff were very friendly, seeming to actually enjoy working there quite a bit.
They put milk and syrups on the side for any coffees so be advised, if you make a bad cup of coffee then that’s on you. They also have a water cooler out for you to grab a cup if you just want that. We got our bagels pretty quick and were so excited to dive into them. Both bagels were crisp and soft like a bagel should be. The plain bagel and plain cream cheese combo is a classic that they got down right. The cacio e pepe bagel with the caramelized onion spread was a unique taste, extremely savory with the cheesy flavor of the bagel coming through well. We ate our bagels pretty quick and were happy with what we ate, but will admit we weren’t blown away.
The verdict? Tilly’s definitely makes a good bagel. Good enough where if you’re in the area you should come out to it and see what it’s about. In comparison to other bagels we’ve had it stacks up decently, but again doesn’t stand out amongst the best. We would be interested to see what other flavor combos tasted like here so if we’re ever in the area again we would definitely give it another try.

In chicago there are not many decent bagel options. Tilly’s is excellent and I would recommend going on a weekday to avoid the long lines!

I received good service here, but bacon, egg, and cheese on a sesame bagel was $11.99!
I'm from NYC, so I don't usually experience sticker shock, but I get this home for $4.25.
It wasn't even a good sandwich. Barely any cheese and the bagel did not have the right texture or taste.
I've had some really good food in Chicago, but I guess I'll have to research some more bagel shops here.

Bagel potato chorizo sandwich was OK. Disappointed that the potato was more of a fast food hashbrown. Would have been better with real potatoes, chopped and slowly fried. Bagel itself was not very flavorful. The sauces were flavorful though.
Well, it's not something I would come back for again.
Professional and well organized experience, waited in line for about 10 minutes.
Loved the bagel sandwiches; lox was amazing, so was the tomato one and additionally tried the cinnamon bagel with honey vanilla - delicious!

Busy place, but line moves fast so don’t be intimidated by that. Bagels were big and there was a variety of flavors to choose from. The bagels won’t knock your socks off, but they’re solid.

BIG bagel lover over here so it pains me to write this. I placed an online order Sunday morning for 3 bagels. Two of them just the bagel and a spread and the other a sandwich bagel. Walked into the shop and was greeted so kindly! Grabbed my pick up order and was so excited to try as I’ve seen the reviews and LOVE a good bagel!
Got back to my friend’s apartment to try the bagels together and was hit with instant disappointment. There was a sliver of cream cheese in each bagel at best and I had to use my friends cream cheese from her fridge to even eat half the bagel. The bagels were also not as soft as I was expecting. They were harder to bite, chewier, and overall, there was no flavor from the bagel and absolutely no flavor from the cream cheese as there was barely any…
1 star simply because their customer service was phenomenal. Otherwise, I would not go back again.

Lovely spot, delicious fillings (especially the salmon and fresh red onion). I got the lox on an everything with sun dried tomato cc.
I WILL say though, for a bagel spot, the bagel itself could have been better. It may have just been that i went mid-day, however, it was like a 7/10 bagel score, and a 9/10 sandwich score. Worth a visit :)

Got here just after 1pm and there were still plenty of options left! Staff were polite, and i didn’t wait long at all for my bagel. The rosemary garlic bagel is to die for, and the fillings were lovely too (not skimpy at all!). No photos as i absolutely devoured it lol
