Taking a trip to Tom Tom's has been a family tradition for decades. It started with my Dad. Now at least once a year, I take a trip into the city to get tamales straight from the Tom Tom's to have during chili season!

Make sure you count them if you buy a large amount. Went several times buying 50 and was always 4 or 5 short

I went directly to the factory thinking that I would get the freshest tamales, bought the minimum of 14 and they were ALL freezer burned. I was sooo disappointed. I hadn’t had any of them in years but since I was visiting my hometown I thought I’d get some and reminisce about my childhood. What a waste of money, time and memories.
They have great prices on their tamales and their Chili

Bourdain devoured their signature Mother-in-Law (a tamale in a hot dog bun covered in chili) but he couldn’t handle the Mighty Dog (a hot dog and tamale in one bun).
Since 1937, Tom Tom Tamale has been making all beef tamales fresh everyday. Anthony Bourdain visited Tom Tom on his No Reservations show when he came to Chicago.
