I went to Tommy's On Higgins the other night and I feel obligated to share my experience. I feel the only way to truly articulate my feelings is by painting you a picture. Imagine the moment you sit down at a table a ray of sunshine hits you and you alone. The Cheers theme song starts playing, but it’s as if you’re the only one that can hear it. You are greeted by one of the waitresses, who if I told you was an angel from heaven, you would believe it. They take your order with the utmost passion and enthusiasm. The food comes faster than a Jimmy John’s delivery driver. You are impressed so far, but quickly realize it’s not your normal everyday meal. There is something different about it, but you can’t put your finger on it. You take a bite of the best food you have ever had and you start to feel like you're having a health scare because of how something could taste so good. When it is time to leave, a wave of emotion hits you and a tear sheds down your cheek as you realize you will never have an experience like that ever again. 10/10, can't wait to go back!
This bar is absolutely amazing! The service is consistently amazing friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. It's a perfect spot to unwind, whether you're a regular or just passing through. Conveniently located within walking distance from the Blue Line, it's an ideal stop if you’ve got a layover at O’Hare. The food is surprisingly great for a bar, and the atmosphere makes you feel right at home. Highly recommend checking it out!
Don’t listen to the harsh reviews given on the first week of them reopening, it’s not even the first month of it opening again, there’s bound to be a couple of hiccups that’s just business. Food is absolutely great. And the bartenders are great, good service and good drinks. Idk what more you could want out of a reliable neighborhood joint.
Nice neighborhood bar with good pizza.
Both bartenders were very friendly.
Great little neighborhood restaurant and bar.
I was very disappointed with the food, service and overall atmosphere. I didn't feel welcome at all... I waited for a very long time before the female bartender acknowledged my presence. She was busy catering to locals sitting in a corner of the bar rather than serving paying customers.
The reopened Tommy's is nicely remodeled and modern. The wood ceiling and open front are very nice. Service was very poor, long waits to get a beer and the beer was not cold. The real disappointment is the place appeared to be full of underage or barely 21yo kids. It's not the old crowd anymore.
I came to the local bar by my hotel roon. My daughter goes to Loyola University. and I was visiting her. What a treat! One e of the best burgers I've ever had!! Even the cole slaw was great. My bartender Robin was awesome! I'm coming here every time i visit my daughter.
