The food came out a little quickly. We weren't quite done with our appetizer. But every single thing we had was exceptional! And the value for the area, the quality and the quantity can't be beat. We love this restaurant and have for years. It never disappoints.

We recommend the dishes that we shared: the grilled calamari, the fennel salad (although it would be improved if the fennel was sliced thinner) and the side of asparagus. All were delicious.

This is a tight but charming restaurant. Service is extraordinary - knowledgeable, personal, and prompt. Although quick, we were not rushed at all. The meals were perfectly prepared and crafted to personal preference.

We were 10 minutes early for our reservation and were seated immediately. Miguel, our waiter was attentive without being overly intrusive. The food was spectacular! Between a party of 4, we had the whitefish, chicken parm, fuzzioli (sp?) with red sauce, basil, and garlic, and the black linguine special with scallops, salmon, and shrimp.

Dining at Topo Gigio is always a delight! The food is some of the best Italian in the city, and the service is top-notch. Prices are reasonable and portions are huge! We reserved a table inside using the Open Table “alert” feature, which notified me when a table became available in our desired time range. The outdoor bar area and patio (enclosed and heated for winter) are first-come, first seated so that is an option for diners as well. One of our favorite spots in Chicago!

This Chicago neighborhood restaurant came highly recommended and it did not disappoint. We had a 530pm reservation we were sat at once. The restaurant was already packed. If you Don't have reservation you are not getting in. Atmosphere was homey felt like one of the neighborhood even though we were from out of state. Our waiter was extremely welcoming. Espresso martini was delish!

Wonderful dining experience w flavorful dishes . I love the flavor of the grilled calamari, out of the ordinary and the seafood spicy pasta special w fresh basil… I do not , however, recommend the tiramisu. It was anticlimactic for such a wonderful meal . I suggest to try another dessert , maybe ? The tiramisu took a a disappointing short cut to our authentic flavorful Italian meal.
