Where do I even start?! It was so so so good. I got the orecchiette pasta (red sauce) and it was amazing. The service, the owner (Bill), dessert, and food were really great. Highly recommended and will come here again for sure. Very happy.

Service and decoration are good. The food is considered good. But I can't say it's very good.

First time trying this restaurant that I found by doing some online research. We were blown away. Sat at the bar with Eric who made the entire experience so enjoyable. His knowledge of the menu and cocktails were almost as impressive as his welcoming personality. The food was equally impressive. Prepared perfectly and served timely. We will definitely be back!

Definitely make the reservation and have a wonderful meal here! We had their signature dish and the Bolognese. Would absolutely recommend both!! The Parm bowl with the Bolognese was awesome!Haven't been to Monteverde, but the dishes there can't be much better than they were here, so why put up with a month long wait when you can have a delicious meal here!!

Obsessed with this restaurant and the people. The arrabiata with ricotta and the papardelle with short rib is the best pasta you’ll ever have. 10/10

Pasta is decent but doesn't match the price IMO. Noodles are average, service is good, patio has spider webs all around and plant pots with dirt mounts at face level. Didn't match the overall rating from my experience.

Words can’t describe how much I love this place. First off all, Bill and Janice are the NICEST people you will ever meet. You go there once and meet them…they will remember you the next time you come in. Whether you’re a first time or returning customer you get treated like family. Even if you don’t have the pleasure of meeting the owners you will still get the warm treatment from either Amy, Eric, Sophie or really any of the wait staff. Regardless, the food is what’s going to suck you in. I haven’t had pasta like this before. It’s truly made with patience and love. I never really loved pasta before, but this place made me have a new appreciation for it. Even if you can’t eat pasta the entrees, apps, and desserts will make you feel like you aren’t missing out. I truly love every item I’ve tried on the menu. I’m a vegetarian and I haven’t had an issue trying a variety of items. You truly cannot go wrong here!!

It is possible that, having generated too much expectation in our reservation, which we made almost a month in advance, may have caused the experience to not be as much as expected. The service was excellent, super friendly and effective. It was a nice touch that we didn't have to wait to be seated, and the waitress was always attentive and smiling. The pastas were not something out of this world (we could not resist the temptation to compare them with Quartino Ristorante - Fettuccine Alfredo with shrimp and Tagliatelle alla Bolognese). We understand that it is a handmade pasta (artisanal to a certain extent), and the price was going to be high, but it was higher than expected. The focus is the pasta, however, apparently, it was not balanced with any protein (imo). The Arnold Palmer without pain or glory (the one from RL Restaurant leaves him far behind). The cannoli was an exquisite dessert, and really very delicious. The opposite is true with the tiramisu, which goes very unnoticed, pitting it against Quartino and Eataly (in that order). The easy-to-forget cappuccino (in contrast to the one sometimes served well at Terrace 16 in Trump Tower). The atmosphere of the place has a lot to be desired, it's not just because of the decoration (which is from a trendy bar in Chicago, yes-yes pasta BAR), the music is very loud and has nothing to do with Italy, the volume suddenly increases (maybe it's the drinks), plus indie rock doesn't make for a good environment; It is possible that it is the range of the sound equipment. The super huge plates and the small tables, and the hot cabinet after a long time. Good detail that they had crayons and drawing sheets.

I went to Torchio with my best friend and my boyfriend for his birthday dinner! We sat at the bar! Eric and Sophia were amazing! We had the best drinks! The pasta was so delicious and flavorful!! The owner, Bill was really great at making everyone who walked in feel welcomed and comfortable. He was extremely kind! We will definitely be returning!!! This place is fantastic! Went here last year and the food is seriously delicious, and our server was on point—super attentive and knew their stuff. They made my partner's birthday extra special which is always a classy move! The wine selection is pretty impressive, and the menu has a bunch of options to choose from. The vibe is cozy and nice, with just the right amount of lighting. Plus, the owner was mingling with guests, which gave the whole place a friendly vibe from the get-go till we wrapped up dinner.Only downside was we got stuck near the door. Every time it swung open, we got hit with a blast of cold air. So, we had this jacket shuffle going on. But honestly a minor hiccup. Overall, a seriously cool and memorable experience.

Just such a wonderful experience! In Chicago for one night and wanted to find somewhere to take myself to dinner and I am so glad I chose Torchio! The bar, bartender and food were so great. Definitely top 5 best Italian restaurants I have been to, in the US and in Italy! I had a hard time deciding on which dish I wanted to order but ended up with the bucatini arrabbiata and I am so glad I did! A little spicy, fresh and full of flavor.

If you’re looking for bomb Italian food, Torchio might be the best in Chicago. And I don’t mean that lightly. The pancetta and sausage risotto was up there with the best dishes I’ve had in a long time. Perfect combination of saltiness from the meats and silk from the sauce. I also tasted the rigatoni alla vodka, which was delicious as well. This relatively small restaurant was packed and on the loud side, but it created an energetic ambience for a weekend dinner. Service was at the top of their game.
