The service was impeccable. It’s the only reason I gave 2 stars and not 1. The dry aged ribeyes were so undercooked the fat wasn’t even rendered. Not very edible. One person in the party ordered the lobster tail. When it first came out, I thought it was a crawfish because it was so small. I understand fine dining, and portions are typically smaller, however that was excessively small. And if you’re going to be fine dining, it is imperative you know how to cook a steak. Unfortunately we will not be back.

10s 10s 10s!!!!!!! I’m a big fan of Diego so I wanted to check out this new addition to the network. Trino had some BIG shoes to fill replacing KŌMO, and they did not disappoint. Every item I consumed was rich and *bursting* with flavor.

The lamb empanada might rival El Che for best I’ve tried in Chicago. $9 is steep but… oooh the way it tasted changed my brain chemistry. 30/10. The Wagyu steak sandwich was unnnnnnbelievable. Zero notes. 50/10. The mac and cheese was thick and really sat down in my tummy. I did not finish it or the sandwich and packed a decent portion for lunch the next day. The patio verde and wine were also quite good. Overall a solid happy hour and the staff are very personable. I felt like I was eating with friends. Heather and Jordan made me feel so welcome. Pay them more!!!! Special thanks to Armando, Danny, Alia, Henry, and Oscar as well for making me feel welcome. 🫶🏾 See yall soon. 🙂‍↕️

Went here after a disastrous experience and had my night redeemed, completely. The food was unique but still approachable and absolutely delicious. The staff were warm and welcoming, and the space is very cute. It certainly did not feel like a West Loop steakhouse in the best way possible. I can’t wait to return to try more of the menu, but I’m absolutely going to get the Caesar salad again.

Trino Steakhouse is an new nice addition to the West Loop dining scene. We started with the Cangrejo Tostada and Shrimp & Grits—both packed with flavor and beautifully presented. The Bucatini Polanco was rich and perfectly cooked, while the Skirt steak with Huitlacoche Bordelaise sauce and Trumpet Mushrooms was the star of the night—tender, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. To finish, the tres leches tiramisu was the perfect dessert: light, creamy, and indulgent. The atmosphere is stylish yet welcoming, and the service was attentive from start to finish. Trino is a good spot to visit in the West Loop for anyone looking for a fresh take on a steakhouse experience.

This steakhouse is fantastic, because it’s not average by any means. The food here based on tradition but is definitely elevated in a way that isn’t complicated. It’s delicious and beautiful. I can’t wait to come back and try more stuff

Atmosphere is a cozy cross btwn industrial vibe (with exposed brick) and a mid century modern speakeasy (velvety colors, murals on the walls and books on the shelves), but all while getting to listen to classic salsa / bachata / merengue hits (softly in the background). Food was absolutely amazing - pulpo, lamb empanadas, skirt steak, arctic char and both the mash and fries. Three layer cake was a little rich for my taste with more like a vanilla watery sorbet than gelato, but glad I tried a bite or two. Service was attentive and never missed an opportunity to fill water. Will definitely be comin back

I recently visited Trino for an early dinner and had a very enjoyable experience. The service was excellent, attentive, professional, and friendly throughout the evening. The food was very good, well-prepared, and flavorful, reflecting careful attention to detail.

The ambience is pleasant and intimate, though the space is relatively small, which adds to its cozy charm. Great addition to West loop.

Even as someone who doesn’t eat meat, I left this steak restaurant feeling completely satisfied! The menu offers a fantastic variety of dishes, and everything we ordered was both delicious and unique — from the Shrimp & Grits and Hawaiian bread to the octopus and ceviche. The way they prepared the shrimp and octopus was especially impressive, and the chocolate cake to finish was absolutely divine.

Beyond the food, the service was outstanding. The staff were warm, attentive, and made us feel so welcome, adding so much to the wonderful atmosphere.

The only challenge was capturing the ambiance in a photo. We loved the cozy booth seating, but while the lighting was perfect for setting the mood, it made pictures a little tricky — too dark without flash and a bit too bright with it. Still, that was a tiny detail compared to how much we enjoyed the evening.

Be ready. Because, as soon as you cross the threshold, you’re in for an experience. We were met with a warm smile and an authentic welcome, and as the hostess gracefully showed us to the table we were hail by several of the staff.

As the waiter seamlessly assumed control of our experience he exhibited a youthful excitement. With a perfect curiosity he got to know us and made us feel comfortable putting our culinary experience in his hands.

My friend chose the wagu offering and I selected the bone- in strip. Both were prepared with excellence. Full stop.

The real star of the edible show was the potato! We shared their original masterpiece, the smash! It brought Spanish and Latin flair to the fore in a spectacular way. And with two great wine pairings our meal was complete.

All aforementioned platitudes considered, the most exceptional part of the evening was the service. Each and every individual we came into contact with tact with provided no less than a 5Star interaction. Right down to the handshake that came with an eye to eye conveyance of true gratitude.

If you turn away from this place, you’ve missed out.

The “Los Pasajes Omakase” at Trino Steakhouse’s Laberinto + Logan Oyster Social is certainly a creative concept, blending a speakeasy vibe with a curated tasting journey. The atmosphere is intriguing, and the presentation of both food and drinks is undeniably beautiful.

That said, the courses felt like a mix of highs and lows. While some bites were enjoyable, others missed the mark, and overall the progression didn’t deliver the “wow” factor one might expect from such an experience. Of course, tasting menus can hit differently depending on personal palate, but for me it fell short of leaving a lasting impression.

The speakeasy idea behind the concept is great and has potential, but refinement is needed across the food, service, and drink program to elevate the evening beyond aesthetics. For now, it feels more like an interesting experience than a must-return culinary destination.

Love this place! Randomly stumbled upon this restaurant with some friends for Happy Hour. The space is really cute and the staff was INCREDIBLE. Everyone was so kind and I can’t wait to go back and try more! Try the Caesar Salad! It’s not a traditional one you would expect but their spin on it was really great.
