My partner and I popped in for the first time today, and honestly, the moment we stepped through the door, it just enveloped us in this wonderfully cozy and inviting vibe. It truly feels like you’re walking into a friend’s super comfy home, complete with the warmest welcome from their amazing staff.
And the coffee? Let me tell you, it's seriously special. You can tell they put a lot of care into it because they've even got a dedicated section right near the entrance where you can see them grinding the fresh beans. That's a huge thumbs-up for quality!
Beyond the coffee, their menu is packed with fantastic choices. Whether you fancy soaking up some sun at one of their outdoor tables or getting snug inside, they’ve got you covered. The indoor area is particularly charming, with all sorts of different couches and chairs – you can really just sink in and relax as if you were in your own living room. Plus, there are stacks of books everywhere if you're in the mood for a read.
It's one of those rare places where you instantly feel completely at ease. The service is outstanding, and with so many options to enjoy, it's perfect for anything from a productive meeting to a chill gathering with your favorite people.
My partner and I are having such a fantastic time here. I'm pretty sure we’ve just found our new go-to spot – this place has definitely earned a top spot on my favorites list!

Not pleased. I walked into Two Hearted Queen hoping for a cup of joe within 15 minutes. Seeing as there were 2 people in line, 3 people working, and one single person waiting for their drink, I thought this was attainable. I was wrong.
The first 5 minutes of my visit were spent working on one drink for the person waiting. This was when I began to grow wary as all 3 employees were staring glassy eyed at the shot of espresso brewing. Not exactly a 3 person job. Emerging from the trance, one worker told us they would resume orders in a second but “the orders were backed up.” Finally, while still making the same drink from before, they asked the first person in line their order, then resumed crafting the first drink. When they finally went to punch the order into the register, they had forgotten everything she’d said and we had to restart the whole ordering process. At this point we were 10 minutes in and had gotten through half of an order (also the waiting customer still had not received their drink). I decided this was not the place for me, and didn’t have another 20 minutes to wait for them to pour a cup of coffee. If I may spitball for a second, perhaps things might move more efficiently if one person takes orders and 1-2 makes the drinks instead of all standing around one half-made beverage.
I cannot comment on the coffee, so maybe that would have made it all worth it, but I’m not sure such a drink exists. If you are on any type of schedule and see even one person ahead of you in line, I would throw in the towel.

Rude baristas, way overpriced drinks, and they taste terrible. Such a shame because it could be a cool neighborhood coffee shop

Love the color place
I am so impressed by every aspect of this gem of a coffee shop. I am sincere when I say this, this is the first good cup of coffee I have had in Chicago in 2 years. It was not just good, it was amazing.
The server behind the counter was also just so kind. They saw that I had a hearing aid and spoke clearly and to me.

Terribly burnt coffee every time I go. Not to mention very slow service for a burnt cup of coffee

Coffee is good but expensive. No problem with that; gotta do what you gotta do. The thing that is weird is that depending on who’s working they will ignore you while you stand at the register awkwardly wondering who is supposed to be taking your order. One of the founders (not sure their name) is super friendly but some of the other workers act like they don’t want to be there
I discovered Two Hearted Queen almost 10 years ago on accident and it continues to be one of my favorite coffee shops in the city! Love their coffee and the bagel sandwich is amazing! Love everything they stand for and how they take care of their people, staff and customers.

Love this little café! The vibe is super cozy with plenty of comfy seating, making it a great spot to work or just relax with friends. My latte was smooth and rich, and they have a nice selection of light bites too. The staff were warm and welcoming, which adds to the laid-back feel. Definitely one of my favorite neighborhood coffee shops!

Two Hearted Queen is, in theory, the perfect coffee shop. It's the only coffee shop in the entire Lakeview area that has truly comfortable and cozy places to sit and a designated seating area that feels secluded, peaceful, and easy to focus. It also serves the BEST breakfast bagels I've ever had and it's great that you can go there for a true meal versus just a couple pastries.
HOWEVER, the ordering system is so confusing. They don't have a designated person to just stand at the register and take orders, so often you have to call out your order to someone across the bar which results in a lot of confusion and incorrect items. This also makes the line feel so unnecessarily long and tedious. Certain employees go out of their way to make you welcomed, but often it can feel hectic and chaotic.
Additionally, this place is so deeply overpriced, it feels like I can only go there once a month because I feel genuinely guilty to be spending this absurd amount of money on coffee and a breakfast bagel. The bagel, sure, I can justify, but the coffee absolutely not.
Finally, it makes me genuinely angry the way they rush you out of the place. They close at 3pm, but they will stack all the chairs in the sitting area around you at 1:30 PM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I understand prepping before officially closing, but to have the chairs all stacked and tables off limits around you for an hour and a half before they close is just so excessive and does not create a positive atmosphere.
It's so unfortunate to me that the only coffee shop in Lakeview with a truly ideal cozy sitting area and good, substantial food is so expensive, chaotic, and oftentimes hostile, that I regret spending my money there almost every time.

$6.50 for a muffin is an absolute travesty. The muffin was pretty good but quite small.
I can’t believe I’m priced out of my neighborhood coffee shop
Cute place, nice vide but I do have one minor issue. While don't mind paying $6.50 for an 8oz cappuccino (probably the most I've paid in Chicago outside of Ohare), but you would except to have a great product; their cap needs work. However, I do appreciate not hidding costs through extra fees at checkout, like other place do.

Delicious Queen of the Night coffee. Very nice atmosphere to sit and enjoy your coffee, food, either alone or with friends. If I had more time, I would have sat and read my book!

Coffee was fine and the store is cute and cozy.
Sign on this shop states that hours are from 7am-3pm. We arrived at 2pm and were told 3 times that we needed to get ready to leave or to leave. Sweeping and cleanup started at 2:30pm.
Please post shop true hours of 7am-2:30. Thanks.

We are staying at an air bnb ln Lakeview, and found this nearby. A very delightful experience that made us feel at home. We had a latte and flat white, and two scones. Enjoyed the chill vibe, on a blistering hot day. A perfect start to our day exploring Chicago!
